Senior Infrastructure Engineer

The LCBO is looking for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer on our platform team who will be responsible for providing technical leadership and key domain expertise for one or more of these key platforms: Windows, Linux, AIX, Citrix, Netapp, VMWare, Commvault and Cisco Unified Computing Systems (UCS) technologies. This role will and require expertise in one or more of the following cloud services Azure, AWS and GCP Infrastructure Services around Compute and Storage and instances. Reporting directly to the Senior Manager, Infrastructure Platform Service, the Technical Lead will design, develop, implement, maintain a large scope of novel applications and platforms, including overall integration and data transformations ensuring the programming standards and business requirements are met. You will be a key member in leading the LCBO's IT transformation and modernization initiatives as you will engage in cross functional continuous improvement initiatives and be an advocate for positive capability transformations.

About You?

• Act as the technical subject matter expert for one or more of the following platforms Windows, Linux, AIX, Citrix, Netapp, VMWare, Commvault and Cisco Unified Computing Systems (UCS) technologies and critically evaluate, adapt, or develop new theories and/or methods as required.
• A subject matter expert for one or more of the following cloud platforms Azure, AWS and GCP Infrastructure Services around Compute and Storage and instances in cloud.
• Provide input from multiple systems perspectives and ensure alignment to IT Strategy and industry best practices, as well as establishes frameworks and methodologies for approaching assignments.
• Analyze current information systems requirements and integrate new applications or platform including data transformations and programs for automatic correction of erroneous data in accordance with IT strategy, industry standards and modern software development best practices.
• Coach and mentor team members to develop new capabilities by validating and providing resolution recommendations and encouraging technical SMEs to provide 'Out of the Box' infrastructure solutions.

About the Role?

• University degree in a technical area such as Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or IT
• 10+ years of experience designing and developing complex infrastructure platforms.
• 3+ years leading teams and projects, overseeing their work, and coaching and developing them.

Hands-on experience to support, engineering and architecture for the following platforms:

Advanced understanding of one or more operating systems:

• Windows
• Linux
• AIX

Expertise in storage protocols and services, including but not limited to:

• Netapp
• Dell Compellent
• Other relevant storage solutions

Proficient in supporting multiple VMWare environments, including:

• vSphere and Hyper-V
• DRS (Distributed Resource Scheduler)
• SRM (Site Recovery Manager)

Expertise in Cisco UCS technologies and MDS switching, with understanding of ACI (Application Centric Infrastructure)

Proficient implementation of Active/Active Data Center and High Availability solution to business

Technical proficiency in backup solutions, specifically:

• Commvault
• Expert understanding of data replication protocol in Active/Active Data Center.
• Proficiency in ensuring high availability across systems.

Cloud and infrastructure management with automation:

Hands-on experience with cloud environments such as:

• Azure
• AWS (Amazon Web Services)
• GCP (Google Cloud Platform)
• IBM/Skytap

Experience managing infrastructure with Terraform or similar Infrastructure as Code (IaaC) tools.

Proficiency in automation with CI/CD tools such as Ansible, Jenkins, Terraform, and scripting experience.

Attitude and Management:

• Demonstrates ownership, accountability, and attention to detail.
• Remains composed and methodical in crisis situations, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve production issues quickly.
• Ability to lead technical projects and architect full solutions.
• Understand Security and Compliance policy like PCI framework. Familiar with platform hardening, leveraging NIST and CIS standards.
• Expert knowledge of all applications supporting the business domain, including data flows and business processes.
