About the role

As the Director, Cloud Services, you will be a trusted advisor and subject matter expert, bringing a depth and breadth of knowledge and expertise in leading, directing and developing the overall operations and delivery of Kinaxis’ cloud infrastructure and services.

Partnering closely with the VP, Cloud Services, and stakeholders across the organization, you will be responsible for the strategic leadership, quality ownership, and operational excellence of Kinaxis’ cloud platform engineering function. This role leads multiple CPE teams and managers, ensuring that platform reliability, quality, and release practices enable product teams to deliver safely, consistently, and at scale. You will be accountable for quality, release management, and security, working in close alignment with IT, Security, and Product teams.

What you will do

  • Provide strategic leadership for the CPE organization, spanning cloud infrastructure, platform services, and operational enablement.
  • Lead and develop CPE managers and senior technical leaders, setting clear expectations for execution, quality, and delivery.
  • Evangelize CPE best practices across development, operations, and product teams to align technology with service delivery outcomes.
  • Own endtoend quality and release management for cloud platform capabilities, ensuring consistent standards and accountability across teams.
  • Partner closely with Platform Validation and quality leadership to close gaps in current quality practices.
  • Ensure release processes balance speed, safety, and customer impact, with clear go/nogo accountability.
  • Ensure platform reliability, scalability, and security through strong operational processes, observability, and incident management.
  • Oversee oncall models, escalation paths, and continuous improvement following incidents.
  • Drive continuous improvement in operational maturity across the CPE organization.
  • Work closely with Product, R&D, Security, and Cloud Services leadership to align priorities, roadmaps, and execution.
  • Act as a senior stakeholder in platformrelated decisionmaking, representing CPE at leadership forums.
  • Build and evolve the CPE org structure to meet current and future business needs.
  • Coach and develop highpotential leaders and senior engineers.
  • Partner with HR and leadership on workforce planning, hiring, and succession.
  • Stay informed about emerging technologies and industry trends in cloud computing.

What we are looking for

Primary Skills and Qualifications:
  • BS or BA in Computer Science, Information Systems, or demonstrated equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in QA, DevOps or Cloud Operations in a high-tech, global, organization.
  • 5+ years of experience leading a team responsible for the delivery and operation of cloud infrastructure and services.
  • Proven experience leading multiple engineering teams or managers in a cloud or platform engineering environment.
  • Strong background in cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, or SREadjacent domains.
  • Demonstrated ownership of quality, reliability, and release practices at scale.
  • Strong crossfunctional leadership and communication skills.
  • Experience influencing senior stakeholders and driving alignment across organizations.
  • Highly skilled in managing multiple complex projects and changes that have organizational impact.
  • Results oriented with experience providing detailed content/presentations for consumption at senior levels.
  • An articulate and professional communicator with the ability to provide clear, concise messaging (verbal and written) to multiple audiences and platforms and present information in a way that engages the listener at the appropriate level.
  • Advanced analytical, problem solving, and critical thinking skills with the ability to coordinate input from multiple sources to develop impactful recommendations to achieve results for the business.
  • Agile and adaptable; excels at managing and prioritizing workloads in an environment of ongoing urgency, ambiguity, and change.
  • Strong relationship-building and influencing skills and the ability to prioritize business requirements appropriately through a collaborative partnership approach.
Role Specific Skills and Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with Information Security industry standards/best practices and relevant regulations (e.g., SSAE16, PCI DSS, NIST, ISO27000).
  • Prior ownership of release governance or quality programs.
  • Experience working closely with product validation or QA organization.
  • Expertise with public cloud solutions; AWS, Azure, GCP.
  • An exceptional collaborator; experience partnering with technology R&D teams and leaders to develop infrastructure and operational solutions, including deployment and automation for new products and services.
  • Technical understanding of modern data center technologies such as virtualization, SAAS, PAAS, IAAS, operating systems, local and wide area networking, compute, storage, data protection and retention, configuration management, provisioning and orchestration and process automation is required.
