Responsibilities
- Ensure adherence to Japan's export control regulations and other applicable laws and guidelines.
- Ability to interpret product literature and understand product specifications, as well as end use of product.
- Experience of product Export Control Classification Number (ECCN) classification.
- Effective communication skills with external parties and cross function are required.
- Experience in handling export control matters.
- Understand Japan Export Regulation law and US Export Administration Regulations (EAR) for accurate classification of exporting items.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate export control risks associated with various products, technologies, and destinations.
- Keep abreast of changes in Japanese export control regulations and global trade laws.
- Import/export operation
- Manage outsourced logistics and customs service providers to ensure timely and compliant execution of trade activities
- Monitor trade activities and proactively address any operation or compliance-related issues
- Service as the main point of contact for trade operation matters, including issue escalation, investigation, and resolution
- Key member in logistic and Export Control related projects and process improvements initiatives
- Ensure adherence to Logistic internal policies and external regulatory requirements
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to support business needs in logistic and warehousing
- Ability to utilize relevant trade management systems and tools to track on trace activities
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in electronic engineering or equivalent engineering background.
- Demonstrated experience in logistic and export control, ideally within a multinational company or organization, is highly valued.
- A strong understanding of compliance procedures and regulations is essential for ensuring adherence to export control laws and policies.
- Experience in international trade, logistics or customs operations preferred
- 5 years of equivalent experience are required.
- In-depth understanding of export control regulations, including those related to classification, licensing, reporting, and export program development and management.
- Experience with Oracle or similar trade compliance management software solutions is often required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications is generally expected.
- Proficient in both Japanese and English.
- Strong oral and written communication skills are essential for interacting with internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience working within a team and/or leading teams can be beneficial.
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to handle operational issues
- Team-oriented with a proactive approach and strong sense of ownership
