The Project Management Team Lead is responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and successful delivery of security services projects while providing strong line management and direction to a team of project managers. This role blends hands-on project leadership with people management, ensuring consistent delivery excellence, process maturity, and a high-performing team culture.
Responsibilities
- Project Management & Delivery (Approximately 50% of Role Focus)
- Lead end-to-end execution of security services projects, including scoping, scheduling, budgeting, resource planning, and stakeholder communication.
- Ensure projects meet defined goals, timelines, quality standards, and compliance requirements.
- Identify and manage project risks, dependencies, and issues; drive timely mitigation strategies.
- Champion best practices in project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, hybrid) and continuous improvement of delivery processes.
- Coordinate closely with cross-functional teams including internal technical teams, security operations, engineering, sales, and client stakeholders to ensure seamless project delivery.
- Track and report consolidated project performance, KPIs, and outcomes to leadership.
- Oversee revenue milestone and progress
- Serve as the primary point of escalation for project-related issues
Line Management & Team Leadership
- Manage, mentor, and develop a team of project managers.
- Conduct regular one-on-ones, performance reviews, and career development planning.
- Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and accountable culture that supports growth, innovation, and continuous learning.
- Oversee team workload distribution, capacity planning, and resource allocations.
- Provide guidance on complex issues, escalations, and best practices to support strong project outcomes.
Strategic & Operational Responsibilities
- Contribute to the strategic roadmap for security service delivery and project methodologies.
- Partner with leadership to forecast resource needs, develop hiring plans, and improve operational efficiency.
- Drive standardization of processes, documentation, and quality assurance across all projects.
- Represent the project management function in cross-departmental initiatives, leadership meetings, and client engagements.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in project management within security services, cybersecurity, IT services, or a related technical domain.
- Demonstrated leadership experience, including managing project teams or direct reports.
- Strong understanding of security service offerings.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and presentation skills.
- Proficiency with project management tools and frameworks (e.g., PMI, PRINCE2, Agile methodologies).
