Business Environment

Our Connectivity Solutions Group (CSG) develops protocol tools and validation solutions that support global customers in servers, storage, networking, AI/ML accelerators, and semiconductor markets. The teams span software, FPGA, hardware, validation, and system engineering, working together to deliver protocol-accurate IP, exercisers, analyzers, and automation frameworks.

This Operating Manager role sits within the PCIe / CXL / NVMe software organization, responsible for enabling next-generation protocol features, maintaining alignment with PCI-SIG ecosystem developments, and coordinating internal and external engineering execution.


Responsibilities

Job Description

The Operating Manager (OM) drives planning, execution, and delivery for PCIe, CXL, and NVMe Protocol Analyzer & Exerciser software programs. The role manages project operations, cross-functional coordination, and resources across internal engineering teams and external vendor/contractor engineering teams.

Responsibilities

  • Own planning, tracking, and execution of software releases for PCIe, CXL, and NVMe Protocol Analyzer & Exerciser programs.
  • Define project scopes, objectives, deliverables, and timelines in alignment with product and architecture teams.
  • Develop detailed schedules, milestone plans, dependency tracking, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Lead execution checkpoints, release readiness reviews, and cross-team program updates.
  • Stay aligned with PCI-SIG specifications, compliance updates, and ecosystem developments.
  • Manage day-to-day operations for protocol software programs.
  • Drive improvements in execution discipline, documentation quality, and operational workflows.
  • Manage external vendor and contractor engineering resources, including planning, tracking, and quality oversight.
  • Coordinate with architecture, FPGA/hardware, validation, system engineering, product management, and product planning teams.
  • Work closely with Product Planning to gather requirements and ensure feature definition closures.
  • Proactively engage with Field teams and customers to gather feedback and understand requests.
  • Prepare high-quality reports, updates, and dashboards for leadership.
  • Establish, track, and communicate KPIs across productivity, milestones, and quality.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • 7–14 years of experience in program/project/operations management.
  • Experience in complex software or system engineering programs.
  • Understanding of PCIe, CXL, NVMe, or related interconnect protocols.
  • Experience managing internal and vendor/contractor engineering teams.
  • Strong skills in planning, tracking, risk management, and execution governance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with FPGA-based systems, protocol tools, exercisers/analyzers.
  • Familiarity with PCIe Gen6/Gen7, CXL 2.0/3.0, NVMe 2.0.
  • Exposure to PCI-SIG working groups or compliance ecosystems.
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • PM certifications such as PMP or CSM.
