About the Team
The Precision Meso-scale Technology Center (PMTC) is a collaborative team of engineers, technicians, and manufacturing specialists. We combine traditional and advanced technologies to develop extremely high-precision mechanical components that power Keysight’s industry-leading electronic measurement equipment.
About the Role
We’re seeking an R&D Tech Specialist to support our photochemical machining manufacturing process. In this hands-on role, you'll work closely with engineers to support production systems and lead critical activities throughout new product introduction.
You’ll apply your technical expertise in lithographic processes, CAD design, and metrology to bridge the gap between design and manufacturing, ensuring high-quality, efficient production.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and prioritize a queue of non-standard orders, providing clear updates and owning delivery timelines.
- Evaluate order requirements and define manufacturing workflows.
- Design and generate photomask layouts using 2D/3D CAD systems, applying engineering judgment within established guidelines.
- Develop and maintain libraries of measurement routines across a variety of metrology platforms.
- Analyze measurement data and offer manufacturability recommendations to engineers.
- Train production operators and troubleshoot manufacturing issues on the floor.
- Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives—from data collection and analysis to process documentation.
Qualifications

You're a curious, self-motivated technician who thrives on problem-solving and process ownership. You take pride in delivering precise results and collaborating across functions to drive innovation and efficiency.
Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of demonstrated success in manufacturing or process engineering environments
- Associate degree (AA/AS) or higher, or equivalent technical training/certification
- Proficiency in 2D/3D CAD systems and blueprint interpretation
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Effective communicator with strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
- Familiarity with GD&T and practical metrology principles
- Knowledge of SPC and foundational manufacturing statistics
- Experience with Siemens NX CAD software
- Background in photochemical machining, PCB, or semiconductor fabrication
- Proficiency with vision measurement tools (Keyence, Nikon, OGP, Zygo, etc.)
- Understanding of basic chemistry and process control

California pay range: MIN $63,820.00, MIDPOINT $85,090.00 - MAX $106,370.00
