Responsibilities
We are looking for a highly analytical and results-driven Business Intelligence & Data Scientist with expertise in the software industry, preferred familiar with the EDA industry, to join our team. This role will involve leveraging data analytics, AI/ML, and business intelligence (BI) tools to extract insights, optimize decision-making, and improve business operations in the EDA industry. The ideal candidate will work closely with management, finance, IT, product, and operation teams to drive data-driven strategies and improve efficiency across the organization.
Responsibilities:
The BI and Data Scientist will report to the EDA Global Business and Operation Director and will have the following roles and responsibilities:
- Metrics tracking and Reporting
- Follow the Keysight EDA Business Reporting flow to populate metrics and conduct regular business reports, including order and revenue results and forecasts, promptly and accurately.
- Partner with management to review business insights that will drive growth. Highlight key issues and gaps, recommending changes based on data to provide actionable insights for order and revenue growth and customer acquisition, retention, and churn.
- Optimize the Business Reporting Flow to reduce manual intervention, improve accuracy, and speed to insights.
- Build predictive models and machine learning algorithms for better forecasting, resource allocation, and product optimization.
- Design and automate interactive dashboards and reports using BI tools, e.g. Power BI, Tableau, or similar BI tools. Manage and maintain BI tools to assemble, analyze, and present data.
- Partner with the finance and IT teams to optimize the reporting infrastructure and BI solutions, ensuring uninterrupted production processing and minimizing adverse impacts.
- Ensure the BI solution is scalable and identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs through data-driven recommendations.
- Data Preparation and Validation
- Coordinate data analysis, collections, and processing with EDA Operations, Sales, and Finance.
- Construct an annual roadmap of BI system and Database enhancements based on organizational metrics, BU requirements, and priorities. Act as the PM for those projects. Communicate updates and provide trainings to key BI tools users.
- Develop and maintain business intelligence solutions offering insights into software usage, market trends, and customer behavior.
- Collaborate with data engineers and IT teams to ensure clean, structured, and high-quality data pipelines.
- Stay updated with the latest AI/ML, data analytics, and industry trends to enhance analytics capabilities. Optimize workflows and tool performance by leveraging AI/ML techniques.
- Create and maintain documentation for Business Intelligence processes and reports. Institute new policies, procedures, and programs to ensure data accuracy, automation, and repeatability.
- Business Review and Planning
- Assist with financial Business Intelligence solutions, presentations and data – support the EDA Strategic Program Review, annual target setting and the annual and quarterly Business Review and Planning processes.
- Keep studying industry standards for new software metric logic/calculations/baselines and provide key metrics recommendations to the management team to reflect the healthiness of the software business.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Typically 8+ years relevant experience for entry to this level. Post-graduate and/or certification/ license may be required.
- Experience & understanding of financial concepts
- Strong proficiency in SQL, Python, or other data analysis languages.
- Experience in data engineering, ETL pipeline development, and database management.
- Hands-on experience with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker, etc.) and database systems like Oracle, Microsoft Apps, SQL, etc.
- Strong analytical, organizational, communication/presentation skills
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to translate business needs into data-driven solutions.
- Self-motivated and independent with a passion for change and ongoing improvement
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in EDA, semiconductor design, or a related high-tech industry. Familiarity with EDA tool and licensing analytics.
- Expertise in data modeling, machine learning, and AI frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, etc.).
- Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and big data technologies is a plus.
- Knowledge of time-series forecasting, anomaly detection, and deep learning models.

Santa Rosa, CA pay range: MIN $ 129,450.00- MAX $215,740.00
