Responsibilities

As a manufacturing engineer, you will develop and sustain manufacturing processes using cutting edge technologies to grow YIG crystal. You will be responsible for further process of the YIG to achieve micron level tolerances to produce precision spheres used in magnetic frequency modulation. You also may be required to support other manufacturing disciplines as needed. Working closely with R&D customers on microwave and mm wave applications, you will influence and create designs for mechanical components and assemblies, facilitating their release and supporting ongoing production. Your duties may include, investigating the latest process tooling and machines as they relate to your areas of responsibility, provide design for manufacturing input on new products, troubleshoot process issues, root cause analysis, documentation creation and maintenance.


Qualifications

Required:

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Materials Science, Physics or Mechanical Engineering. This role requires a combination of technical knowledge, engineering theory and a hands-on approach to manufacturing, however, experience is not required.

Desired:

  • Fundamental knowledge of material properties
  • Basic knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Basic knowledge of thermal processing technology
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in and/or lead diverse cross-functional teams
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills,
  • Ability to prioritize day to day activities balancing immediate needs with long term project goals
  • Cad experience (preferably in Siemens NX CAD)
  • Familiarity with RF, microwave, and mm wave applications
  • Basic understating of process improvement
  • Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma or other quality tools

**This is an open position for college graduates that are graduating or already graduating within 18 months of graduation date.***

The level of role will be based on applicable experience, education and skills; Most offers will be between the minimum and the midpoint of the Salary Range listed below.

California pay range: MIN $70,000- MAX $117,000

Note: For other locations, pay ranges will vary by region
