Job Description:

We are looking for a Senior Embedded Linux Engineer to join a project focused on developing and maintaining software for IoT devices connected to cloud platforms.

In this role, you will work on C-based client applications running on embedded Linux systems, integrating devices with AWS IoT services using the AWS SDK. You will also contribute to the evolution of the solution, including potential development of an alternative cloud connectivity approach (e.g., based on thin-edge.io).

This is a great opportunity for an engineer who enjoys low-level development, working close to hardware, and building reliable, scalable device-to-cloud communication solutions.

Must-have Requirements

  • Strong proficiency in C programming

  • Solid experience with Linux development (preferably Embedded Linux / user-space applications)

  • Hands-on experience with AWS IoT SDK (preferably C-based)

  • Experience with build systems: Yocto and/or Buildroot

  • Experience with shell scripting (Bash)

  • Understanding of IoT device development

Nice-to-have

  • Experience with AWS IoT ecosystem and device-to-cloud integration

  • Familiarity with MQTT or other IoT protocols

  • Experience working with embedded systems/edge devices

  • Familiarity with thin-edge.io

  • Experience developing custom IoT clients or agents

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain IoT client software in C

  • Integrate devices with cloud platforms (AWS or alternatives)

  • Work on embedded Linux user-space applications

  • Configure and maintain build environments (Yocto / Buildroot)

  • Contribute to the development of an alternative cloud connectivity solution (e.g., thin-edge.io-based)
