Job Summary:**
As a Semiconductor Mechanical Design Engineer at Jabil, Inc., you will be responsible for the mechanical design, analysis, and validation of innovative semiconductor manufacturing equipment and tooling. Job Responsibilities:**
As a Semiconductor Mechanical Design Engineer at Jabil, Inc., you will be responsible for the mechanical design, analysis, and validation of innovative semiconductor manufacturing equipment and tooling. You will contribute to the entire product lifecycle, from concept to production, ensuring robust and high-performance solutions for our global customers.
Job Responsibilities:**
- Design and develop complex mechanical systems, components, and assemblies for semiconductor equipment using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo).
- Conduct detailed engineering analysis, including stress, thermal, vibration, and fluid dynamics, to ensure design integrity and performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, process engineers, and manufacturing, to integrate mechanical designs and optimize system performance.
- Generate detailed manufacturing drawings, specifications, and bill of materials (BOMs) in accordance with industry standards.
- Perform design reviews, identify potential risks, and implement corrective actions throughout the product development cycle.
- Prototype, test, and validate mechanical designs, analyzing performance data and making necessary adjustments.
- Investigate and troubleshoot mechanical issues in existing products, developing and implementing effective solutions.
- Stay current with emerging technologies, materials, and manufacturing processes relevant to semiconductor equipment design.
- Document design processes, test results, and engineering changes thoroughly.
- Support manufacturing and assembly teams during product realization and production ramp-up.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical design, preferably within the semiconductor, capital equipment, or high-precision machinery industries.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo, Inventor) for part and assembly design, surfacing, and detailing.
- Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, including statics, dynamics, mechanics of materials, and thermodynamics.
- Experience with finite element analysis (FEA) software (e.g., ANSYS, ABAQUS) for structural, thermal, and vibration analysis.
- Knowledge of various manufacturing processes such as machining, sheet metal fabrication, welding, and additive manufacturing.
- Familiarity with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and its application in manufacturing drawings.
- Experience with materials selection for demanding environments, including vacuum, high temperature, and corrosive conditions.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
