This role reports to the Sr. Operations Manager and is responsible for leading the Machine Support group. The supervisor oversees staffing, training, performance, and technical execution within the production environment.

What Will You Do?
Leadership & Management Responsibilities
Recruitment & Retention
- Recruit, interview, and hire Process Engineers, Industrial Techs, WAVE Techs, and Machine Support Techs.
- Communicate hiring criteria to recruiters and coach team members on the interview process.
- Monitor turnover and implement improvements to enhance retention.
- Identify individual and team strengths and development needs.
- Create and validate training curriculum for the department.
- Coach and mentor staff to deliver excellence to internal and external customers.
- Develop and manage succession plans for the machine shop function.
- Establish measurable goals and objectives for individuals and teams.
- Solicit feedback from Workcell Managers, Business Unit Managers, and peers.
- Provide ongoing coaching and conduct timely evaluations.
- Drive continuous improvement in operational metrics.
- Coordinate large teams and maintain focus during critical situations.
- Ensure fair and consistent recognition and rewards.
- Facilitate open communication within the department.
- Organize verbal and written communication using appropriate business style.
- Encourage input and adapt communication style to team needs.
- Oversee maintenance programs including repair parts, preventative maintenance, feeder maintenance, and support equipment.
- Plan and coordinate activities of technical staff.
- Maintain department reports and records.
- Supervise line moves and builds.
- Schedule equipment vendors for installation, repair, and updates.
- Ensure procedures and work instructions are efficient and non-redundant.
- Identify and implement best-in-class practices and improvements.
- Demonstrate commitment to customer service and problem resolution.
- Lead by example and promote a culture of accountability.
- Collaborate with Jabil’s Advanced Engineering group for support.
- Establish new measurement systems where applicable.
- Ensure compliance with safety, health, and security policies.

How Will You Get Here?
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in maintenance management.
- Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Hands-on experience with Surface Mount Technologies (SMT) and Thru-hole equipment.
- Knowledge of process optimization, SPC, DFM, DFT, Demand Flow Technology, and DOE methodologies.
- Familiarity with engineering disciplines including chemistry, mechanical, electrical, and industrial engineering as they relate to surface mount and final assembly.
