How Will You Make An Impact?
We are seeking an experienced and highly engaged HR Manager to lead the Human Resources function at our manufacturing facility in Gurnee, IL. This is a critical role responsible for driving a positive employee experience, strengthening leadership capability, and ensuring the site has the HR support needed to operate effectively and safely.

The HR Manager will serve as a trusted advisor to plant leadership and will partner closely with the Regional HR Director to deliver strategic initiatives. This role oversees all core HR processes including employee relations, talent development, workforce planning, performance management, compliance, and culture-building efforts. The HR Manager will also provide day-to-day guidance and mentorship to our HR Business Partner and support the ongoing development of the HR team.

What Will You Do?
The HR Manager is a key member of the site leadership team and is responsible for delivering comprehensive Human Resources support to our manufacturing facility. This role ensures the site has the right HR leadership to foster a positive culture, support operational excellence, and drive business performance. The HR Manager partners closely with plant leadership, provides coaching and guidance on people-related matters, and leads the execution of HR initiatives that strengthen our workforce, leadership capability, and employee experience.


This role oversees all core HR functions including employee relations, talent development, performance management, compliance, staffing, and workforce planning. The HR Manager will also mentor and support the development of the HR Business Partner and broader HR team to ensure consistent, high-quality HR service delivery.

Strategic HR Leadership

  • Serve as the primary HR leader for the manufacturing facility, partnering with plant leadership to align HR strategies with operational goals.

  • Identify workforce needs and implement plans that support staffing, development, retention, and succession.

  • Lead change management efforts and support leaders through organizational transitions and continuous improvement initiatives.

Employee Relations & Compliance

  • Lead employee relations activities, ensuring fair, consistent, compliant handling of issues.

  • Coach leaders on performance, behavior expectations, documentation, and risk mitigation.

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, safety requirements, and internal policies.

  • Drive a culture of respect, safety, accountability, and engagement.

Talent Development & Performance Management

  • Support leaders in developing strong, effective teams through coaching, feedback, and talent planning.

  • Lead the site’s performance management process, ensuring meaningful reviews, goal alignment, and development planning.

  • Build leadership capability through training, coaching, and workforce development programs.

Recruitment & Workforce Planning

  • Partner with Talent Acquisition and site leaders to ensure timely, high‑quality hiring for hourly and salaried roles.

  • Guide workforce planning, labor forecasting, skills assessments, and staffing strategies.

  • Champion onboarding and retention initiatives that enhance new hire success and reduce turnover.

HR Operations & Reporting

  • Oversee site HR processes including attendance management, leave administration, job changes, and HR system accuracy.

  • Generate metrics and insights on turnover, attendance, engagement, staffing, and other critical HR indicators.

  • Implement HR policies, standard processes, and continuous improvement efforts.

Team Leadership

    • Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching, and development for the HR Business Partner and HR support roles.

    • Build a high-performing HR team grounded in consistency, service excellence, and strong partnership with operations.

    • Foster a collaborative, solutions-oriented HR environment.

    How Will You Get Here?

    Education:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.

    • HR certification (PHR/SPHR, SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP) preferred.

    Experience:

    • 5+ years of progressive HR experience, including at least 2 years in an HR leadership or HR business partner role.

    • Experience supporting or leading HR in a manufacturing, distribution, or industrial environment.

    • Or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and/or training.

    Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
    • Lean/continuous improvement mindset.

    • A proactive, confident HR leader who partners well with operations.

    • Skilled at balancing strategic thought with hands-on execution.

    • Comfortable navigating a fast-paced, dynamic manufacturing environment.

    • Passionate about building culture, improving processes, and developing people.

    • A trusted advisor who handles challenges with maturity, discretion, and fairness.

    • Strong knowledge of labor and employment practices, manufacturing operations, and proven experience driving HR excellence.

    The pay range for this role is $103,100 - $185,600. Job-related, non-discriminatory factors used to determine the actual offered rate include qualifications and experience, geographic location, education, external market data, and consideration of internal equity.As part of the total rewards package, this position is eligible for a short-term incentive based on performance. In addition, Jabil offers benefits to enhance your health, wealth, and resilient self. These include medical, dental, and vision insurance plans; paid time off accruing at a rate of 3.07 hours during your first year of employment; 4 weeks of paid parental leave; in 2026, 11 company-paid holidays (9 fixed holidays and 2 optional floating holidays), subject to change yearly; 401(k) retirement plan; and employee stock purchase plan.
