Job Summary
The Facilities Engineer at Jabil, Inc. is responsible for ensuring the optimal functionality, safety, and efficiency of the company's facilities. This role involves planning, designing, and overseeing the installation, maintenance, and repair of building systems, infrastructure, and equipment to support manufacturing operations and a productive work environment.
Job Responsibilities
* Design, implement, and manage facilities projects from conception to completion, including budget development, vendor selection, and project scheduling.
* Oversee the preventive maintenance and repair of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, compressed air, and other critical building systems and equipment.
* Conduct regular inspections of facilities to identify and resolve maintenance issues, ensure compliance with safety regulations, and optimize operational efficiency.
* Develop and implement energy conservation programs and sustainable facilities practices to reduce operational costs and environmental impact.
* Collaborate with production, EHS, and other departments to ensure facility infrastructure supports manufacturing requirements and employee well-being.
* Manage relationships with external contractors, service providers, and regulatory agencies, ensuring adherence to contracts and compliance standards.
* Prepare and maintain detailed documentation, including facility layouts, equipment specifications, maintenance records, and project reports.
* Respond to facility emergencies and breakdowns, coordinating appropriate corrective actions to minimize disruption to operations.
* Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in facilities operations, implementing new technologies and best practices.
Job Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field.
* 3-5 years of experience in facilities engineering or management, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
* Strong knowledge of building codes, safety regulations (OSHA, NFPA), and environmental standards.
* Proven experience with HVAC systems, electrical distribution, plumbing, and other essential building infrastructure.
* Project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently, from planning to execution.
* Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD) and facilities management software (CMMS).
* Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and external stakeholders.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
