Job Overview
This Sr Medical Science Liaison is a 1-year, project-based role for a global pharmaceutical company with the potential for long-term transition based on performance, responsible for building and maintaining scientific relationships with target HCPs in the therapeutic area of Hematological Cancer. The role requires field communication strategy building and strong execution with various channels. The Sr Medical Science Liaison works with local Medical TA counterpart to develop brand medical plan by transferring field insights to brand medical strategies and tactics, and collaborates with local Medical TA counterpart and Country Medical Director to develop and drive robust field communication plan.
Essential Functions
- Engage in 70–80% of field interaction, insights collection and scientific communication with HCPs.
- Provide frequent and regular feedback and insights from the field to internal stakeholders.
- Provide current, accurate and balanced scientific education to HCPs and facilitate data discussions in Hematological Cancer.
- Engage in peer to peer scientific exchange of complex clinical and scientific information.
- Provide scientific presentations to individual physicians or groups of physicians (e.g., scientific seminars).
- Utilize scientific resources to deliver impactful presentations in a variety of settings.
- Analyze and interpret key data and publications and transform these into clear scientific messages.
- Develop and implement HCP engagement plan, identify new rising stars (HCP) in Hematological Cancer, plan HCP visits, and utilize CRM database to record HCP interactions.
- Work with local Medical counterpart to develop programs and activities including coordination and execution of programs such as medical advisory board meetings, scientific education programs, congress symposia, and patient centricity activities.
- Provide support for content development and delivery of clinical presentations at Advisory Boards, as requested.
- Discuss ideas for Investigator Sponsored Research (ISR) and Collaborative studies and communicate with investigators regarding progress of ISR, Collaborative studies, and publications.
- Provide scientific training to internal colleagues on demand basis.
- Actively participate in internal medical trainings.
- Be fully cognizant of all relevant scientific data.
- Help coordinate medical affairs activities and initiatives at local/regional/global level.
Qualifications
- MD/PhD/Pharmacist preferred.
- At least 2 years of pharma industry or clinical experience is preferred.
- Industry experience is essential, ideally including recent experience of a successful launch within oncology or hematology.
- Working understanding of hospital and community practice hematology/oncology departments and systems.
- Working knowledge of regulatory and compliance environment.
- Strong communication skill, analytical skills, and demonstrated ability to transform key findings from study data and publications into scientific communication strategy planning.
- Excellent written, verbal, presentation and interpersonal skills.
- Fluency in English and Korean is essential.
- Must be committed to continuing education to maintain abreast of all relevant scientific data.
