About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Sales Manager to lead our pharmaceutical sales operations across Sub-Saharan Africa, with a focus on Mozambique, Namibia, and Botswana. This is a strategic leadership role responsible for managing a team of 8, including Sales Representatives and a Team Leader, based across the region.
The ideal candidate will be based in Mozambique, legally authorized to work in the country, and able to travel extensively in line with project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Strategy & Analytics
- Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve and exceed business objectives.
- Set clear sales goals and KPIs; monitor performance and provide actionable insights.
- Analyze market trends, competitor activity, and sales data to inform decision-making.
- Utilize CRM systems and sales analytics tools to drive performance.
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, mentor, and support a geographically dispersed sales team.
- Foster a high-performance culture focused on accountability and continuous improvement.
- Ensure alignment with company goals and compliance with regulatory standards.
Market & Industry Expertise
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the pharmaceutical landscape across Sub-Saharan Africa.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant industry regulations and standards.
- Monitor emerging trends and innovations to maintain competitive advantage.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Build and maintain strong relationships with healthcare professionals, distributors, and key stakeholders.
- Manage key partnerships and represent the company at industry events and conferences.
Qualifications & Experience
- 5–10 years of pharmaceutical sales experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Proven track record of exceeding sales targets and driving team success.
- Strong strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in CRM platforms and sales analytics tools.
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively across the region.
- Must be based in Mozambique and authorized to work in the country.
