East Europe cluster

East Europe is a sustainably growing region for IQVIA, with an innovative team of around 500 people. East Europe Commercial organization unites 30 countries and 18 locations across the region providing a multitude of IQVIA’s solutions to over 200 clients serving a population of circa 300m people. Along with the rest of IQVIA, much of the business is with Life Science companies but also working directly with Public Health organizations, Governments, and health systems (hospitals, payers etc.) with a view to proactively supporting and improving patients’ lives.

The purpose of the role

The Strategy Director is responsible for driving operational and financial success within the East Europe RBU. This individual is part of East Europe

Leadership Team together with GMs, Finance and HR, is guiding and influencing activities across the organization. Key responsibilities include managing strategic planning on short-, mid-, and long-term horizons, overseeing daily operations, coordinating with business leaders throughout East Europe, and ensuring effective execution of mergers and acquisitions, project delivery, and operational excellence goals.

The role also supervises the rollout and implementation of strategic initiatives, leads the offering strategy in East Europe, and is currently ensuring project leadership for critical initiatives in Russia and the CIS sub cluster.

The Strategy Director reports directly to the Senior Vice President and General Manager for East Europe, Russia, and CIS.

The primary location is Warsaw but other locations in East Europe can be considered.

Key accountabilities:

Drive Information Services Offering in East Europe

  • Coordinate development of new analytical/data products and status tracking

  • Manage development budget

  • Drive Offering Community calls

  • Drive innovation

Drive M&A activities in East Europe

  • Update target map, review acquisition targets, run quick assessments

  • Execute due diligence

  • Act as Integration Project Manager

Drive strategic initiatives/ long term planning

  • Update long term initiatives (all business lines)

  • Lead defined strategic initiatives (e.g. Gen AI)

  • Support Marketing activities (e.g. speeches at events/ white papers)

Support country and EMEA reporting

  • Shape country reviews, support budget planning

  • Support EMEA reporting

  • Other tasks defined ad hoc

Key experience, skills, competencies:

  • Financial acumen/ ability to develop business cases

  • Understanding Data Product Management frameworks

  • Project Management capabilities.

  • Oral and written fluency in English.

  • Ability to quickly adapt to working standards, tools and systems.

  • Strong analytical skills, proven ability to handle complex and ambiguous situations.
