The Study Grants Expert conducts Grant Plan and Fair Market Value (FMV) assessments for all Globally, Locally and Regionally Supported Clinical Trials, Investigator Initiated Trials (IITs), and Research Collaborations (RCs) in support of accurate budget forecasting and accelerated site contracting.

Accountabilities

  • Translate clinical protocol visit assessment schedules into accurate Grant Plan and FMV cost estimations.
  • Lead the grant plan process and align with Study Lead, Study Start-up Lead, and Country Pharma Organizations (CPOs) for timely and accurate site contracting.
  • Collaborate with Study Leaders to identify clinical/operational issues in protocol design and assess cost implications.
  • Partner with Study Start-up teams, Budget Managers, and Early Trial Pricing partners to enhance forecasting accuracy.
  • Provide clinical operational feedback to Clinical Trial Teams (CTTs) on study design impacts.
  • Engage with CPOs and regional teams to ensure alignment on Grant Plan outputs and FMV processes.
  • Negotiate centralized FMVs for IITs and local phase IV trials.
  • Manage vendor relationships to ensure accurate and refined cost assessments.
  • Identify productivity savings and cost avoidance opportunities.
  • Compare cost estimations in light of protocol amendments.
  • Utilize global/regional/country cost data to drive intelligent estimations.
  • Collaborate with Early Pricing Team for smooth project handovers and knowledge exchange.
  • Ensure accuracy of forecasting tools used alongside Grant Plan.

Activities & Interfaces

Serve as a dedicated member of the Global Study Start-Up (SSU) Team, accountable for FMV/Grant Plan delivery at various protocol stages. Resolve FMV queries using data-driven benchmarks to support faster contract negotiation. Provide operational feedback to CTTs on budget-impacting protocol elements.

  • Optimal balance between cost efficiency and operational/scientific requirements.

Qualifications

  • 5 years of relevant sponsor or clinical research organization clinical site contracting experience
  • Demonstrable global experience acting as a contract negotiator
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Strong legal, financial, and technical writing skills
  • Team player

The potential base pay range for this role, when annualized, is $62,800.00 - $157,100.00. The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part-time). Dependent on the position offered, incentive plans, bonuses, and/or other forms of compensation may be offered, in addition to a range of health and welfare and/or other benefits.
