  • Act as Scientific Lead for the development and delivery of a range of programs and projects from business development through to profitable program execution.
    • Independently (or with oversight on atypical projects) create forward-thinking, high-quality communications strategies for multi-faceted programs, using understanding of therapy area, market, and client objectives.
    • Lead meetings with relevant stakeholders, presenting scientific/clinical concepts and facilitating discussions as required.
    • Independently coordinate and ensure consistent production of high-quality deliverables according to the needs and objectives of the client, intended audience, and delivery modality, while meeting compliance, deadline, and scope requirements.
      • Design, develop, and review deliverables to improve them in scope.
      • Coach and mentor team members; assist in training.
  • Provide scientific counsel, expertise, and strategic advice as a subject matter expert across a range of communications deliverables.
  • Grow the business with existing and new clients:
    • Act as content lead in the development and delivery of new business proposals and RFIs/RFPs.
    • Lead on project specifications and cost estimates, working closely with business development and project teams.
    • Identify new solutions and services.
    • Elevate our profile as a best-in-class reputable brand of IQVIA in part by participating in relevant industry forums, contributing to thought leadership and marketing articles, and establishing a reputation and network within the wider industry.
  • Participate in the operational management of assigned communications activities and work closely with senior colleagues to achieve business targets.
  • Contribute to, or oversee, the development and implementation of department standard operating procedures (SOPs), quality measures, and working practices to meet industry standards, client expectations and targets.
  • Travel to local or international face-to-face client meetings, congresses, or other meeting types, if needed (up to 10% of contracted hours per year).

  • Advanced degree in medical or scientific discipline (MD, PharmD, PhD preferred) or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Extensive (6+ years) prior experience in medical and scientific communications including review/QC responsibilities, proposal/business development, and scientific direction in a variety of therapeutic areas, preferably within an agency environment.
  • Native English speaker or bilingual/proficient level of academic English.
  • Exemplary writing and content development skills in PowerPoint and Word, to a standard appropriate for mentoring junior staff and providing QC sign-off.
  • Excellent interpersonal/communication skills with proven ability to build and maintain effective work and client relationships.
  • Proven mentorship, project leadership, and business development skills.
  • Full understanding of current industry code of practice guidelines and their implications.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the pharmaceutical/healthcare industry and ability to effectively drive strategy.
  • Strategic ability, deep therapeutic expertise, and creative ability to serve as scientific lead for a range of medical and scientific communication solutions.
