LOCATION:

Remote, with ability to travel to an office: Parsippany, NJ/Raleigh, NC/King of Prussia, PA.

POSITION SCOPE:

The Vice President, Corporate Development will identify, prioritize and pursue M&A transactions across healthcare data, services and technology verticals in support of IQVIA business units. Primary geographic focus will be the Americas. They will lead multiple deal teams in evaluating potential transactions. Those transactions will range from small minority investments to larger acquisitions that may exceed $1B in enterprise value.

This position will offer the candidate high visibility throughout the organization working with the C-suite and other senior level team members.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • In co-operation with the VP, Corporate Strategic Planning, develops and updates a framework for strategic alliance partner identification that is consistent with the companies’ strategy.
  • Evaluates candidates and mobilizes internal IQVIA functional network to drive consensus.
  • Negotiates the transaction, determines the appropriate valuation and deal mechanics.
  • Orchestrates acquisition process with legal, finance experts and due diligence teams.
  • Monitors the external environment and identifies opportunities to satisfy that framework through strategic alliances.
  • Identifies/engages potential partners and evaluates their value proposition in an expedited fashion.
  • Champions the initiative while mobilizing internal IQVIA commercial leaders and eventual commercial owner.
  • Conducts valuations and negotiate terms & structure.
  • Enlists legal and financial experts to optimize deal structure and accounting.
  • Commissions appropriate market research and competitive intelligence gathering activities that are necessary to develop the framework and evaluate potential partners.
  • Monitors acquisition/alliance integration/performance including providing “steering committee or board management” where appropriate.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of acquisition diligence, financial modeling, and valuation.
  • Prior experience leading due diligence efforts and managing the deal process from beginning to end.
  • Ability to successfully manage a high volume, multi-deal pipeline.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Superior Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Prior experience and understanding of the pharmaceutical, healthcare and /or information technology industries preferred but not required.
  • Prior experience managing and developing high-performing teams.
  • Executive presence, confident and credible demeanor.
  • Maturity and humility when working with others.
  • Excellent communicator that can inspire confidence as well as engage in healthy debate.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA strongly preferred.
  • 10+ years corporate development experience or deal experience with an investment bank, private equity, or transaction services firm.

The potential base pay range for this role, when annualized, is $205,100.00 - $380,900.00. The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part-time). Dependent on the position offered, incentive plans, bonuses, and/or other forms of compensation may be offered, in addition to a range of health and welfare and/or other benefits.
