JOB DESCRIPTION

ROLE – Engagement Lead | Associate Director, IT

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Delivery accountability and implementation ownership of IQVIA’s AI ML based initiatives end to end.
  • Establish a strong understanding of product strategy and roadmap in working with Product management lead and contribute to roadmap from technology enable capabilities standpoint
  • Responsible for providing technology leadership to engineering team to ensure product gets built based on defined specifications and industry best practices in a timely manner
  • Work with product owner, scrum masters and the scrum team do release and sprint planning and provide team commitments accordingly.
  • Act as a technology SME and educate internal and in many cases external users about product capabilities, best practices in technology and software engineering management
  • Responsible to ensure product is built in a modular, configurable and in a service based implementation model.
  • Accountable for solution oversight on the project covering functional as well as non-functional requirements of the project.
  • Oversee design, engineering, testing and product release. Provide technology leadership in terms of making a feature release decision and provide hands on leadership to resolve post release issues as needed.
  • Ownership of collecting and help analyzing product KPIs.
  • Work with Support team to put right product monitoring and hypercare + support model
  • Work with Product manager to plan future incremental releases, new minimum viable products and manage global roll out of product features
  • Accountable for adherence to all SDLC and project governance mode followed within RDS IT wrt project scoping, feasibility, estimation, change control, gate reviews and delivery of the final release.
  • Accountable for identifying skill sets needed for project implementation in collaboration with the demand function.
  • Accountable for liaising with the resource management team to obtain resources with the requisite skill sets for project implementation.
  • Accountable for managing any delivery related escalations
  • Accountable for preservation and enhancement of product/business-line specific domain knowledge.
  • Responsible for functional people management of a team of domain aligned roles like Delivery Project Managers, Architects, System/Data Analysts, Developers and Testers
  • Accountable for project performance reporting – status, change/s, metrics, risk, issues and dependency management to relevant stakeholders

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Hands on experience on the software development practice with larger exposure to system architecture.
  • Strong Application development background and microservices architecture
  • Exposure to one or more of the AI technologies such as ML, NLP and OCR and strong end to end delivery background
  • Require knowledge of GITLAB, JIRA, Kubernetees, Dockers
  • Exposure to cloud hosting such as AZURE or AWS is added advantage
  • Deep knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle & Agile Principles
  • In-depth understanding of Software Engineering principles
  • Hands-on experience of running large delivery projects in a global industrialized software delivery environment (Agile and SAFe) is good to have.
  • Experience with Clinical domain
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including good command of English language
  • Strong leadership skills with proven ability to lead a virtual team in a matrix structure
  • Innovative and strategic thinking capability
  • Excellent negotiation and influencing skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, managers and stakeholders.
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new environments

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Extensive use of keyboard and mouse requiring repetitive motion of fingers and wrists
  • Regular sitting for extended periods of time
