Position Summary:

The purpose of this job is to perform a very wide variety of maintenance tasks including but not limited to electrical and mechanical maintenance work such as: installation, fabrication, assembly, set-up, diagnosis, troubleshooting maintenance work on plant equipment, services and facilities requiring the use of hand and maintenance tools and skills. Work from blueprints, sketches, written and verbal instructions.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Performs work on energized lines, circuits and connections with a wide range of voltages including 110V, 220V and 440V. May work with voltages up to 12,500V at distribution transformers. As necessary make hot cutovers
  • Operates a wide variety of equipment such as, various saws, pipe threaders, drills, gauges, meters, feelers, voltmeters, o-scopes, other electrical diagnostic equipment, micrometers, industrial fork trucks, hand trucks, machine tools, welding equipment, carts, ladders, lifts, etc.
  • Provides cross-training for other skills
  • May be a member of a work group (team) that utilizes some business skills such as, writing and entering work orders, time distribution, quotes and estimates, use of computers in performance of duties, etc.
  • Works independently, coordinates PMs, rebuilds, shutdowns, tasks and other employees as required
  • Displays innovativeness when dealing with complex problems, trains others in maintenance techniques designed for sensitive processes
  • Work as a member of a team; writes process documentation; prepares maintenance projects and layouts, interfaces with customers, vendors and suppliers, responsible for the quality of work, timeliness, work methods, practices, etc.
  • Repairs machinery involving havey component part

Required Qualifications:

  • GED or High School Diploma
  • Experience as an Electrician, and journeyman accredidation- "Class A"
  • Ability to handle 16-50 lbs., work overhead in tiring awkward positions, run conduit, perform bench work repairing instruments and motors, align belts, erects partitions, etc. Infrequently handle 51-80 lbs.
  • Ability to handle a Hot Environment
  • Ability to use equipment and to utilize computers when needed

Comp range: Initial $35.58 increase after three months $36.01, increase after nine months $36.37
