As a Senior Photonics System Test Specialist at Nokia, you will be an integral part of our Fixed Networks Optics team. Your primary role is to ensure the successful transfer of new products to volume production, making a significant impact on our commercial success.
How You Will Contribute And What You Will Learn
- Device testing, characterization, and modelling of optical components, sub-assemblies, and modules.
- Contributing to calibration and control strategies for low-cost, mass production.
- Developing and optimizing automated test setups for calibration and functional tests.
- Transferring and implementing test setups at volume production facilities.
- Interfacing with optical experts, contract manufacturers, and R&D teams.
- Researching and solving complex technical problems related to optical technologies.
- Working within schedule commitments and delivering high-quality results.
- Gaining experience in production processes and yield optimization.
- Using Python for test automation and analysis, and procedural/object-oriented programming.
- Constructing and automating laboratory test setups with various equipment.
- Master's or PhD in Engineering or Physics, specializing in photonics or optical communications.
- Extensive experience in product development of optical communication technologies, with a focus on test automation and new product introduction.
- Fluency in English.
- Located in Ottawa, Canada.
- Excellent analytical skills with a proven track record of solving complex technical problems.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Familiarity with product development processes and schedule management.
- Experience in interfacing with production facilities and understanding production processes.
- Proficiency in Python for test automation and analysis, and procedural/object-oriented programming.
- Knowledge of laboratory equipment and experience in constructing automated test setups.
