How You Will Contribute And What You Will Learn
- Perform monthly verification of lab equipment inventory and confirm calibration status according to lab procedures.
- Perform initial diagnostics such as power cycling equipment, reseating cards and cables, and verifying power, and network connections before escalation.
- Inspect newly received equipment, perform power on tests, log items into tracking systems, apply asset tags, and ensure proper calibration stickers or labels are placed where required.
- Image lab computers to Nokia standard, install required software tools, configure network settings (IP addresses), and verify operational readiness, in both windows and linux systems.
- Configure lab instruments (such as tunable lasers, optical spectrum analyzers, polarization equipment, optical test set mainframes, etc); set up power connections, IP addressing, and communication interfaces such as GPIB.
- Inspect, sort, and organize, returned or excess cables and fiber assemblies; ensure items are properly stored and available for reuse.
- Help keep lab spaces clean, organized, and compliant with safety and operational standards.
- Assist with equipment moves, rack installations, and new station setups as part of lab reconfigurations and expansions.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, are required.
- Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and to work in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
- Strong troubleshooting skills, basic IP knowledge.
- Strong sense of ownership and accountability.
- Linux/Unix operating systems, installing servers, creating users, groups, and permissions.
