This is a technician position supporting in-development test processes for optical module prototypes. It involves working closely with the development team to operate test processes, both as part of the early stages of manufacturing and for R&D purposes.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform electrical and optical tests on prototype hardware using automated test fixtures.
  • Carefully observe protocols on safe hardware handling to avoid damaging material, with a particular emphasis on ESD mitigation.
  • Follow detailed procedure documents and process flows that are in-development and will require regular retraining as processes mature.
  • Learn usage of basic software tools to track line flow and individual part status.
  • Perform basic triage of failures with guidance from engineering.
  • Support requests to move and reconfigure hardware for R&D use.
  • Keep prototype hardware organized and easy to inventory.
  • Assist with maintenance of test equipment as needed and provide prompt feedback if suspected issues are observed.

Education and Skill Requirements

  • AS in Electronics/Electronic Technology or equivalent experience required
  • ESD safety
  • Fiber handling
  • Process execution

  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a flexible team environment is essential
  • Microsoft Office experience
