Non-CA Pay Range (Annual):

$165,100.00 - $306,500.00

As the optical networking industry begins a new cycle of standardization for 1.6T interfaces Infinera is expanding its team by a recruiting a Director of Standards activities, who will help lead our standards programs from within the Office of the CTO.

This individual will be responsible for developing and driving Infinera’s optical interface standards strategy and for communicating that inside and outside the organization.

They will be part of the standards team that leverages the broader Infinera technology community and collaborates across the company (and with our peers as necessary) to support standardization objectives.

They will use their experience, subject matter expertise and diplomatic skills to position Infinera appropriately within national and international Standards bodies and MSAs that specify optical interface standards.

From time to time, they will be required to use their communication skills to position the company’s optical standards activities with partners and customers.

Requirements

  • Track record of contributions on optical interface standards in SDOs or MSAs
    • Experience of a full standards development lifecycle in an international standards body highly desirable
  • Recognizable and respected standards professional with strong reputation in the industry
    • Preferably with leadership experience in a relevant SDO, MSA or forum
    • Broad understanding of the optical standardization ecosystem
  • Good technical understanding of all aspects of optical interfaces with expert level understanding of one or more aspect
  • Willing and able to travel frequently (internationally)

Education and experience

  • Bachelor degree in Electronic Engineering, Physics or a related discipline
  • 10 years industry experience
  • We will consider SMEs with less standards experience seeking to transition into this role

The list of applicable countries in Country Group D:1, E:1 or E:2 may be updated by the U.S. government from time to time. The current processing time for an export control license is approximately 4 to 6 months.

You will be required to provide certain information for export control compliance assessment purposes, and your information will be reviewed by Infinera's hiring and export control teams to ensure compliance with the U.S. export control laws and regulations. Infinera will collect necessary documents (such as proof of citizenship etc.) to assess license/authorization requirements if you are offered and accept the position.”
