Senior Analyst – Mortgage Credit, Policy, and Governance
In this role, you will be responsible for reviewing credit exceptions, managing escalations, and overseeing quality assurance activities. You will ensure the effective execution and governance of lending policies and guidelines. Your expertise will be crucial in maintaining compliance with regulatory standards and driving continuous improvement within the department.
Responsibilities:
Lending Policy & Governance:

Perform research on regulatory changes, market trends, and competitor policies to assist in updating lending policies and guidelines.

Monitor and report on credit adjudication methodologies, appraisal matrices, and insurer programs.

Coordinate governance processes to ensure alignment across stakeholder groups on lending policies and guidelines.

Communicate changes in lending policies, risk appetite, and credit authority limits to all stakeholders.

Develop agenda items for Mortgage Risk Committee meetings and propose recommendations on policy exceptions and complex transactions.

Develop and regularly update comprehensive training materials based on changes in government regulations and investor guidelines.
Policy exceptions and escalations

Analyze complex files or exception requests and make appropriate recommendations

Review and analyze metrics on client exceptions and escalations directed to IG; suggest areas of improvement
Quality Assurance & Compliance

Coordinate, compile and track findings related to quality assurance reviews.

Develop training material based on audit findings to facilitate continuous improvement.
Requirements:

A minimum of 5 years of experience in the mortgage lending industry, with a strong background in underwriting, and development of lending guidelines.

Strong knowledge of the mortgage lending regulatory environment and quality assurance methodologies.

A university degree in a related field is preferred.

Proven problem-solving, organizational, and analytical skills.

Excellent teamwork, leadership, and relationship-building skills.

Critical thinking skills and ability to work under tight timelines.

Highly effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

Autonomy and sense of initiative.

Bilingualism (English-French) is preferred
