The Role:
The Marketing Department at IGM Financial is currently accepting applications for the position of Senior Manager, Corporate Communications. Reporting to the Assistant Vice-President, Communications & Community Engagement, this role is accountable for developing and implementing strategic communications for IG Wealth Management Advisors and their teams, and for developing and overseeing a communications strategy for our community engagement platforms.
The individual will work collaboratively with senior management and business leads to develop effective communication strategies, ensuring consistent use of key messages across a range of activities and tailoring these messages toward specific audiences, including financial Advisors and field management. The successful candidate will also take a lead role in editorial direction and will use his/her superior writing skills to draft and edit content for a range of internal communications vehicles.

Creating compelling communications strategies that engage key stakeholders such as advisors, employees, clients, and community partners

Developing and maintaining positive relationships with business partners

Managing an editorial calendar and team of writers with an eye on delivering the best experience for our audience

Handling data, setting goals and key performance indicators, and tracking progress.
The successful candidate’s primary responsibilities will include:
Communication strategy development and planning
-
Work with business stakeholders to develop targeted, integrated, creative communications plans that effectively engage audiences and are aligned with industry best practices.
-
Provide oversight on Corporate Communications’ suite of communication vehicles and platforms, including reviewing and approving work of other team members.
Consultation with business leads and senior management
-
Provide expert communications advice and recommendations to business counterparts
-
Serve as communications representative on various working committees
-
Work collaboratively and creatively with marketing and community engagement partners to develop and recommend integrated engagement strategies
Writing and Editorial Oversight
-
Create content and obtain approvals for a variety of internal materials, including communications to financial advisors, web conferences, web pages, speaking notes and video scripts

Manage implementation of content, including translation, design, digital and multimedia requirements as needed.
The following qualifications will assist the successful candidate in carrying out these responsibilities:

8-10 years’ experience in a corporate communications environment, preferably with direct experience within the financial services industry

Post–secondary degree or diploma in Communications or Public Relations

Strong and versatile writer who can balance corporate tone with attention-grabbing storytelling

Exceptional editing skills
-
Experience in creating communication strategies with measurable results

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects within tight deadlines
-
Experience managing a team
-
Ability to engage with senior management confidently
-
Strong technical skills and aptitude for content management and layout programs
-
Bilingual in English and French considered an asset
