We are currently looking for an Assistant Vice-President, Mortgage Credit and Risk and Portfolio Management to join our Mortgage department.
On a national level, the Assistant Vice-President is a key member of the leadership team responsible for managing our $10B residential mortgage business. This individual will lead a team responsible for maintaining lending guidelines and risk policies, reporting on and managing portfolio quality, monitoring regulatory changes and macro-economic trends in the industry, and overseeing audit and quality control processes.
Responsibilities

Oversite of an effective risk framework governing our mortgage business and key partner relationships.

Monitor and report on portfolio risk and trends.

Ensure lending guidelines and risk management strategies are updated to reflect regulatory, macro-economic, and strategic changes.

Oversee quality assurance and audit processes (internal and 3rd party).

Provide solutions-oriented underwriting solutions for complex cases and higher-level approvals.

Support credit loss forecasting (budget, expected loss, and stress tests).

Work closely with the executive leadership team on strategies to enhance the overall mortgage business.
Experience and Skills
-
10+ years of experience leading a team of residential mortgage risk professionals. National scope.

In depth knowledge of big 5 bank risk practices & lending guidelines, and mortgage regulation (i.e. OSFI B20, Department of Finance).

Expert level of knowledge on all aspects of residential mortgage lending, Including in-depth knowledge of business financials for business owners.

Post-secondary education in a relevant business discipline.

Collaborative leadership style and great team player.

Highly proficient PC skills and use of current technology.

Experience with automated lending models.

Experience with other personal lending guidelines would be an asset.

Bilingual English/French is preferred.
