The Role:
IGM Technology is looking for a Senior Manager, Application Delivery for its Investors Group location in Winnipeg or Toronto. The successful candidate will be report to the Director, Application Support.
The Senior Manager, Application Delivery is a dynamic, service-oriented, and technically adept leader responsible for overseeing application support activities within the IGM Technology division. The ideal candidate will exhibit an active management style, possess a deep understanding of application support, and have experience in a hybrid/multi-vendor environment. They will be passionate about addressing the technology needs of our Advisors, Clients, and Business, ensuring a seamless and positive experience.
This role requires someone who can unite teams to solve problems, creatively tackle opportunities to eliminate pain points, and facilitate improvements. The candidate should foster a collaborative environment and demonstrate calm leadership under pressure. The successful candidate will be an independent, service-oriented technology professional with excellent logical and problem-solving skills, a drive to make a difference, and the ability to manage upwards effectively.
Key Responsibilities:

Platform Management: Oversee critical multi-system(s), multi-vendor(s) application platform with stringent high availability requirements.

Incident and Problem Management: Develop and continuously improve incident and problem management processes, including root cause analysis and critical outage response for the application platforms.

Monitoring and Maintenance: Ensure effective monitoring of platform availability, responsiveness, health, security, and integrity, including application maintenance and patching activities.

Vendor Management: Manage third-party service providers in a hybrid-outsourced environment.

Project Support: Provide operational support for projects and transition activities.

Security and Compliance: Support internal and external application security and compliance audits.

Financial Planning: Participate in annual business planning and budgeting for your area of responsibility, ensuring financial targets are met.

Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, BAU leads, and other support teams to foster cohesive project strategies and ensure effective synergy throughout all phases of development, testing, and deployment.

Innovation and DevOps: Promote an entrepreneurial culture that research, tests, and implements innovative ideas and trends for application support and DevOps structures.

Leadership and Optimization: Collaborate with other application support leaders to ensure support methodologies, processes, and standards are current and optimized, improving operational and support practices.

Resource Planning: Plan and estimate resource requirements effectively.

Team Management: Manage, mentor, and develop all team members, including team composition, hiring, motivation, retention, performance/rewards assessments, and development/corrective actions.
Knowledge/Skill Requirements:

Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in computer information systems, Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.

Experience: 5-7 years of progressively responsible experience in an application delivery environment, with leadership experience being advantageous.

Production Environment: Experience in a 24x7 production environment, ideally across multiple data centers and third-party service providers.

Methodologies and Tools: Familiarity with modern methodologies, standards, frameworks, and tools for application delivery and support is beneficial.

ITSM/ITOM Knowledge: Understanding of IT Service Management (ITSM) or IT Operations Management (ITOM) activities and their implementation in large corporations, with relevant certifications being a plus.

ServiceNow Expertise: Proficiency with the ServiceNow platform and the ability to analyze trends in incident management.

Project Management: Knowledge of IT project management principles and practices, including scope, issue, and risk management, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives.

Physical Requirements: Ability to remain stationary for extended periods.

Soft Skills: Exceptional communication, organization, and time management skills, along with a strong personal commitment to quality service.

On-Call Requirement: Availability for 24x7 on-call duties, excluding vacation and health days.
