Huawei Canada has an immediate 4/6 months Internship opening for an Intern Researcher

About the Team:

Founded in 2012, the Noah’s Ark lab has evolved into a prominent research organization with notable achievements in academia and industry. The lab’s mission focuses on advancing artificial intelligence and related fields to benefit the company and society. Driven by impactful, long-term projects, the aim is to enhance state-of-the-art research while integrating innovations into the company's products and services, including LLMs, RL, NLP, computer vision, AI theory and Autonomous driving.


About the Job:

  • Engage in cutting-edge research on AI system optimization, with a focus on enhancing performance on edge devices.

  • Research and develop efficient algorithms and models to minimize the computational and storage overhead on edge devices.

  • Explore and implement AI model optimization techniques tailored to specific hardware platforms, such as model quantization, pruning, and distillation optimization.

  • Evaluate and analyze the performance of optimized AI models in real-world application scenarios.

  • Collaborate with team members to solve technical challenges and contribute to academic paper writing and publication.

Job requirements

About the Ideal Candidate:

  • Currently enrolled in senior Phd or Master’s in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related technical field, having strong software development skills

  • Excellent hands-on experience in Python, Pytorch/tensorlow is enough for this role.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, self-motivated, with creative thinking and attention to details. Excellent organization skills under pressure and dynamic priorities, effectiveness in prioritizing tasks.

  • Experience in training, regularization, generalization and evaluation of deep learning models, demonstrated through internships and projects.

  • Strong publication record as first author in top conferences such as CVPR, NeurIPS, ICLR, etc.
