ABOUT THE ROLE

Be the leader of the team assessing and driving achievement of program specific performance for multiple parallel projects, working closely with the customers of the Thunderbolt Platform products, Project Engineers from other groups and the Program Managers.

The Sr Advanced Project Engineer will partner with the technical resource managers, assist with staffing, and be the primary focal for program cost, schedule, and technical issue coordination and escalation. You will lead prioritization of work packages, design goals and objectives, and drive overall program performance. In addition to a primary role coordinating the Thunderbolt Platform itself, you will be a partner with the entire Platforms Center-of-Excellent Engineering team, which includes diverse Software, Electrical, Mechanical, and FPGA/ASIC teams and you will coordinate all of them on your customer programs.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Project planning, status, execution, and escalation
  • Drive clear communications between Technical leaders
  • Optimize the team through procedural improvements and automations
  • Driving HW/SW quotation estimate efforts and approvals
  • Facilitating various teams to solutions and agreement
  • Drive and improve project engineering practices for Hardware & Software group
  • Hybrid Work Schedule
  • Travel: up to 5% US/International
  • Reports to: Sr Engineering Manager

U.S. PERSON REQUIREMENTS

Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status or have the ability to obtain an export authorization

MUST HAVE

  • 5+ years of project/program engineering experience
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics

WE VALUE

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Science or Engineering
    • Familiarity with Space and Defense project management and secure practices
    • Familiarity with Agile Engineering development methods and tools
    • PMP certification
    • Experience with Core or Product Line management – servicing multiple asynchronous customers via a common core product line
    • Significant experience in project planning and coordination, especially familiarity with Platform Hardware/Software processes and practices
    • Business acumen – knowledge of current and emerging practices, methods, and information relating to discipline and application, within Aero and the larger industry
    • Diverse teaming and collaboration/facilitation skills
    • Trusted Advisor relationship with Customers
    • Skill to influence others to accept new concepts, practices, deploy new approaches
