As an Electronic Design Engineer II at Honeywell, you will work with the Global Production Engineering Services (GPES) team to achieve material cost savings, enhance productivity and support our R&O facilities.

You will report directly to our Sr Engineering Manager, and work out of our Aguadilla, Puerto Rico location. External hires will begin with 90 days on site before transitioning to a 3/2 hybrid schedule.

We are currently seeking an Electronic Design Engineer with a strong technical background, business savvy, and financial skills to join our innovative Aerospace Technologies Global Repair & Overhaul team. This role is part of the (GPES) group.

The GPES team is dedicated to achieving material cost savings, enhancing productivity, and providing factory and product support for our R&O facilities. The successful candidate will be tasked with leveraging their extensive knowledge and experience in avionics aftermarket product design, specifically in areas such as Weather Radar, Enhanced Ground Proximity Warning System, Aircraft Information Management System, Flight Management System, Display Unit, and Recorder, among others.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations
• Support the manufacturing and production of electronic systems
• Support operations in improving the effectiveness of production lines with regards to repair and overhaul of avionics products
• Liaise with the technical team to develop and modify tools, methods, and repair processes as necessary to improve specific repair and overhaul processes
• Identify and drive continuous improvement on the efficiency and methods of the site's repair processes, such as test equipment, tooling, etc., to improve productivity at the site
• Explore opportunities for automation or digitizing current standing processes at the site
• Perform component and system analysis to ensure optimal performance and reliability

Travel to the U.S, of 50%, can be expected.

As an Electronic Design Engineer II here at Honeywell, you will design and develop electronic systems, working with cross-functional teams from concept to production. YOU MUST HAVE:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering, or mathematics
  • 2+ years of experience working in the avionics or electronics industry
  • Strong knowledge of electronic design principles and practices
  • Circuit analysis knowledge
  • Technical writing skills
  • Ability to speak, read and write English
