In this role, you will impact the development of mechanical systems by understanding the mechanics of how critical components fit together. You will be an integral part of our design engineering team, contributing to the design and development of innovative mechanical solutions for Heat Transfer, Turbomachinery and Systems Design. Job functions include, but are not limited to, creating CAD designs and generating engineering drawings for all aspects of high-speed rotating machinery products, heat exchanger products and/or system packs. Coordinate with multiple customers and establish priorities. Understands the mechanics of how critical components fit together. May be involved in fabrication, operation, application, installation, and/or repair of mechanical products. You may also be involved in the fabrication, operation, application, installation, and/or repair of mechanical products.

As a Mechanical Design Engineer I here at Honeywell, you will contribute to the design and development of cutting-edge mechanical solutions, ensuring high-quality, reliable products, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. You will report directly to our Engineering Manager and you’ll work out of our Torrance, CA location on a Hybrid work schedule.
YOU MUST HAVE
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering, or mathematics.
- 0-2 years of experience in the mechanical engineering or related field.
- Basic knowledge of CAD software, with Siemens NX being a plus.
- Basic knowledge of PLM tools, with Siemens Teamcenter being a plus.
- Understanding of fundamental mechanical analysis principles.
- Ability to support multiple projects.
- Willingness to learn and apply new design concepts and methodologies.

The annual base salary range for this position is $78,200- $97,800. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work within multi-discipline design collaborations in Turbomachinery, Heat Transfer, and/or Systems design.
- Assist in the design and development of mechanical systems and components using CAD tools (Siemens NX and PTC CREO).
- Utilize PLM software (Siemens Teamcenter) to manage product data and documentation.
- Perform fundamental mechanical analysis to ensure product performance and reliability.
- Support automation tasks, utilizing Python or similar programming languages.
