Sr IT Architect – Cloud

You will report directly to our Director of IT, and you will work out of our Phoenix, AZ location on a Hybrid work schedule.

As a Sr Enterprise Architect- Cloud here at Honeywell, you will design and evolve our technology landscape, aligning architecture with strategic goals and industry best practices. Drive innovation, scalability, security, and compliance. You will report directly to our Director of IT, and you’ll work out of our Phoenix, AZ location on a Hybrid work schedule.

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, mathematics.
  • 6or more years of experience in IT architecture planning, including a minimum of 3 years in a leadership or managerial role.
  • Experience with cloud architecture, deployment, and management tools.
  • In-depth knowledge of major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, Alibaba) and automation tools such as GitHub Actions, Ansible, and Tanium.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
  • Strong understanding of cloud computing, security, and data management.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee and lead a team of IT architects and senior planners, providing mentorship and guidance in developing and maintaining our technology architecture.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to define and execute high-level IT architecture strategies aligned with our business objectives, pushing the envelope on innovation.
  • Shape the planning and implementation of technology solutions, ensuring they meet scalability, security, and compliance standards while remaining at the forefront of industry best practices.
  • Design, implement, and manage cloud-based systems to ensure high availability, scalability, and security.
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues in a proactive manner to ensure seamless operations.
  • Manage virtualization resources, including provisioning, monitoring, and maintenance tasks.
  • Execute regular patching of systems to maintain security compliance and system stability.
  • Identify and resolve technical issues across the infrastructure, ensuring quick resolution and minimal downtime.
  • Develop and implement automation scripts to streamline operations and increase efficiency.
  • Contribute to GitHub projects, enhancing existing automation processes and tools.
  • Collaborate with team members to integrate automation solutions into operational workflows.
  • Design and implement cloud architecture solutions that meet business needs and align with industry best practices.
  • Lead architectural reviews and participate in design sessions, ensuring that solutions are well-documented and conform to architectural standards.
  • Monitor and analyze system performance, making recommendations for improvements.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members on architectural best practices and methodologies.
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to advise on potential impacts on the business.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define cloud strategies and ensure seamless integration of cloud services.
  • Evaluate and recommend cloud technologies and tools to enhance our cloud infrastructure and services.
