As a Lead Engineering Technician here at Honeywell, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our products through effective test engineering practices in the Environmental Test Lab. You will lead and coordinate the testing activities for assigned projects, working closely with cross-functional teams to define test requirements and specifications. The Environmental lab provides critical 24/7 testing for more than 30 Defense & Space product lines on the Clearwater campus.

This job requires the ability to set-up, program, and operate test equipment to simulate environments our product lines will experience in their end applications such as vibration, thermal, and vacuum testing. This position also requires lifting fixtures and handling flight hardware in support of environmental testing of our Space and Defense electronics assemblies

This is an Onsite role in Clearwater, FL and supports 2nd shift.

As a Lead Engineering Technician here at Honeywell, you will lead a team in supporting our MSC business unit, ensuring smooth engineering processes and systems. Your expertise will drive project success and business growth.You will report directly to our Manager and you’ll work out of our Clearwater, FL location on an Onsite work schedule.

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Associate’s degree in a related engineering discipline required. In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 5 years of relevant technician experience may be considered.

  • Capability to lift and handle fixtures and flight hardware associated with environmental testing activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform environmental testing activities for assigned programs and projects.
  • Collaborate with engineering and cross-functional teams to execute test requirements and specifications.
  • Set up, program, and operate environmental test equipment to simulate real-world conditions, including vibration, thermal, and vacuum environments.
  • Execute environmental test plans and ensure accurate data collection and reporting.
  • Handle and install test fixtures and flight hardware in support of Space and Defense electronics assemblies.
  • Ensure compliance with test procedures, safety requirements, and quality standards.
  • Support continuous improvement of lab processes and testing methodologies.
  • Provide day-to-day technical guidance within the Environmental Test Lab as needed.
