We are seeking a hands-on Automation Engineer to design, build, and operate automation solutions using AMELIA and modern scripting tools. The ideal candidate has strong expertise in Python, PowerShell, JavaScript, and Linux/Windows, with a logical problem-solving mindset. You will collaborate with OPNS, application owners, and service teams to deliver efficiency, resilience, and cost savings through automation. Experience in Agile delivery and structured cadences is essential.

As a Sr IT Engineer here at Honeywell, you will design, implement, and maintain IT infrastructure, ensuring seamless operations and innovative solutions that drive company success.
YOU MUST HAVE
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in systems engineering and automation.
- Scripting & Coding:
- Python (automation frameworks, API calls, multiprocessing)
- PowerShell (Windows services, registry, WMI)
- JavaScript (Node.js, REST integrations)
- Bash (Linux service management, cron, log analysis)
- OS Expertise: Windows Server/Client and Linux (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu) administration.
- Automation Platforms: Experience with AMELIA or similar IT operations platforms.
- Dev Practices: Git, code reviews, modular design, unit testing, secure coding.
- Agile & Collaboration: Scrum/Kanban experience; stakeholder engagement.
- Communication: Ability to translate technical solutions into business outcomes.
WE VALUE

- Experience in DevOps practices and methodologies.
- Integration with monitoring/alerting (Splunk, Elastic), ticketing (ServiceNow/Jira), CMDB.
- Knowledge of REST/GraphQL APIs, JSON/YAML, webhooks.
- Exposure to CI/CD, containerization (Docker).
- ITIL Foundations or similar certification.
- Demonstrated success in driving digital transformation initiatives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design and implement automation using AMELIA and custom scripts (Python, PowerShell, Bash, JavaScript) for service restarts, health checks, and operational runbooks.
- Build reusable automation modules with robust logging, error handling, monitoring, and configuration management.
- Integrate with enterprise systems (APIs, schedulers, alerting, ticketing, CMDB) for end-to-end workflows.
- Monitor and optimize automations: track execution, success rates, and impact metrics (MTTR, cost savings).
- Automate incident remediation playbooks for L1/L2 operations (service start/stop, cache clear, config verification).
- Collaborate with teams to identify automation opportunities and drive delivery through structured cadences.
- Manage stakeholders: backlog grooming, demos, risk communication, and priority alignment.
- Contribute to Agile ceremonies: sprint planning, estimation, stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
