Advanced Navigation Research Engineer

You will be a part of the Navigation, Controls, and Surveillance group which falls under our Advanced Technology organization.
In this role, you will impact the advancement of cutting-edge navigation technologies, with a strong focus on new technology development. The role will be hands on and require skills in navigation, software, field testing, and data analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research and development activities focused on advanced navigation technologies and systems, with an emphasis on GNSS-denied navigation.
- Conduct field testing, including vehicle and flight testing, to produce data necessary to further technology development.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful development of end-to-end navigation systems.

As an Advanced Navigation Research Engineer here at Honeywell, you will drive the development of cutting-edge technologies, lead critical projects, and ensure Honeywell remains a leader in technological advancements. You will report directly to our Sr. R&D Manager, and you’ll work out of our Plymouth, MN or Redmond, WA location. This role is eligible for hybrid work mode, except for the first 90 days.
YOU MUST HAVE
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in technical disciplines such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics.
- 6 years of experience performing research and development projects within a technology or manufacturing environment.
- Strong background in areas such as navigation, state estimation, robotics, software development, hardware development, or related fields.
- Proven track record of executing successfully on complex technical tasks.
- Experience with simulation and field testing of navigation systems or related sensors such as IMUs, cameras, or magnetometers.
WE VALUE
- MS or PhD in Engineering, Robotics, Physics, or a related field.
- Experience with GNSS-denied navigation and estimation theory.
- Strong skills in C/C++, MATLAB, and Python.
- Experience debugging sensors and navigation systems both in hardware and software.
- Passion for innovation and continuous learning.

The annual base salary range for this position in Minnesota (excluding most major metropolitan areas), is $115,000 - $137,000. For Washington State and most major metropolitan areas, the annual base salary range is $127,000 - $158,000. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline.
