You will report directly to our Director IT and you’ll work on a hybrid work schedule out of our Phoenix, Arizona site. Note: For the first 90 days, New Hires must be prepared to work 100% onsite M-F.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design, develop, and maintain advanced software applications for new and legacy aircraft products.
- Maintain/develop/support industry standard tools such as IBM DOORS and DOORS NG, IBM ELM, Siemens Teamcenter, NX, JIRA and Atlassian tools.
- Support application and/or product lifecycle management tooling.
- Bridge gaps between Engineering, IT and vendors.
- Support export control and legacy system environment configurations.
- Support common tool initiatives and migrations.
- Support application upgrades.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define software requirements and specifications.
- Perform testing and debugging of tools to ensure software quality and performance.
- Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation.

Join Honeywell Aerospace as a Sr. Advanced Software Engineer and contribute directly to the software foundations that power modern and legacy aircraft systems. In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain high‑reliability software tools and applications used across aerospace engineering environments. You’ll work extensively with industry‑standard platforms—including IBM DOORS, DOORS NG, IBM ELM, Siemens Teamcenter, NX, JIRA and Atlassian tools —supporting lifecycle management, integrations, upgrades, and migrations. You’ll bridge engineering and IT to ensure complex aerospace development ecosystems perform at scale, meet rigorous standards, and align with regulatory and export‑controlled requirements. This position is ideal for engineers experienced in modern software development methodologies, debugging, and performance optimization, who thrive in highly technical, cross‑functional environments. Hybrid role based in Phoenix, AZ.
YOU MUST HAVE
- Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in software engineering, particularly in aerospace or related fields.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics
- Expertise in supporting software development methodologies and tools.
- Experience with software testing and debugging techniques.
- Familiarity with aerospace standards and regulations.
