Job Title: Sr. Systems Eng Supervisor (for Experion Solutions Suites-ESS)

Reports To: Engineering Program Manager

Matrix Alignment: Upstream GSC Leader

Travel: 10-20% (as per requirement)

Role Summary

In this role, the candidate is to work closely with various GSC Leaders (Upstream, Mid-Stream, Downstream/Refinery, Sustainable Aviation Fuel-SAF) and will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and commercializing Experion Solution Suite (ESS) packages and driving innovation through integration of advanced Experion offerings. This role involves close collaboration with process licensor (UOP), engineering teams, and global stakeholders to deliver optimized control solutions that enhance operational performance.

Key Responsibilities

1. Templatization of UOP Technologies

• Analyze process documentation (GOM, PFDs, P&IDs) to identify critical process parameters and control requirements.
• Engage with UOP to capture process operational objectives, define and validate complex control strategy requirements, and develop comprehensive Control Narratives detailing functional logic, interlocks, permissive, and fail-safe conditions
• Co-ordinate with engineering team to develop the PCS, SIS and HMIs for the ESS package.
• Configure KPIs and complex control loops to ensure optimal process performance and operator efficiency.
• Ensure HMI design aligns with ASM standards, focusing on complex process loops and operator decision support.
• Test and document all the complex loops.

1. ESS Package Custodianship

• Maintain backups and ensure migration to latest Experion releases.
• Drive integration of ESS packages with advanced applications and digital platforms.
• Integrate ESS packages with advanced applications such as APC and OTS for enhanced process simulation and optimization.

1. Close collaboration with vertical leaders

• Support CAB licensing and commercialization of ESS packages.
• Maintain ESS website with updated technology briefs and promotional content.
• Handle ad-hoc requests for demos and conferences.

1. Customer Engagement & Demonstrations

• Ensure VEP system readiness for customer demos and HUG events.
• Showcase complex loop functionality and embedded operational know-how to customers.

1. Training & Awareness

• Develop short training videos and demo content for internal and external stakeholders.
• Promote ESS packages globally through presentations and forums.
• Provide technical support for ESS-related queries across regions.

1. Innovation & Technology Adoption

• Incorporate latest Experion technologies (e.g., HALO, Python engines) into ESS packages.
• Prepare advanced demos showcasing new capabilities.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Chemical engineering with good understanding on Controls
• Strong understanding of process control principles and unit operations.
• Ability to interpret PFDs, P&IDs, GOMs, Control narratives, and Safety guidelines.
• Experience with industrial automation systems, advanced process control, and simulation tools.
• Familiarity with process KPIs, energy efficiency strategies, and operational excellence frameworks.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills; ability to collaborate across global teams.

Preferred Background

• Experience in process industries such as refining, petrochemicals, or gas processing.
• Exposure to UOP technologies and Honeywell control systems.
