Sr Controllership Analyst

We have an opportunity for a Sr Controllership Analyst (Sr Statutory Reporting Analyst) to join us at Honeywell, in Bucharest, where you will be responsible for preparing high quality statutory financial statements and supporting external financial audits for multiple legal entities across the Middle East and Africa (MEA) region. The role partners closely with regional controllership, country finance teams, global finance centers, external auditors, and tax advisors.
This position will also support in -country teams with corporate tax assessments during offseason periods and assist with VAT and Withholding Tax (WHT) compliance across MEA.
The role reports to the Country Controller (MEA), with key stakeholders including tax, legal, external auditors, and business finance.
This is a hybrid role, 3 days at the office and 2 days work from home model.
Key responsibilities
Statutory Reporting
• Prepare annual statutory financial statements for allocated entities across the MEA region in accordance with local GAAP or IFRS.
• Translate US GAAP group reporting into statutory financials, including preparation of local GAAP adjustments and supporting workpapers.
• Ensure timely and accurate filing of statutory reports for all assigned legal entities.
• Maintain strong documentation for statutory accounts, disclosures, and compliance requirements.
Audit Support
• Manage internal and external audit requirements and drive statutory audits to timely completion.
• Support tax auditors during statutory or tax related reviews, providing schedules, reconciliations, and relevant documentation.
• Ensure compliance with SOX and country-specific statutory regulations for books and records.
Tax Assessments & Compliance
• Support country tax teams with corporate tax assessments, inspections, and responses to tax authorities during off season periods.
• Prepare and support VAT and WHT filings for MEA entities as needed, working with tax consultants and internal tax teams.
• Maintain tax compliance calendars and ensure timely, accurate submissions.
• Stakeholder Management & Advisory
• Collaborate with regional and global finance teams, statutory service providers, and external advisors.
• Provide timely updates and escalations to senior management on statutory, audit, and tax related matters.
• Support Honeywell finance, tax, and legal teams in implementing statutory and tax strategies.
Key skills and qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Economics, or related discipline.
- ACCA / CPA / CA (completed or in progress) is strongly preferred.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in statutory reporting, FS preparation, external audit, or controllership roles within multinational or Big 4 environments.
- Solid knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS with a strong understanding of local GAAP across MEA (advantage).
- Experience with VAT/WHT compliance or tax assessment processes in the Middle East or Africa is a strong plus.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle is an advantage.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines across different jurisdictions.
- Fluency in English (written and verbal). Knowledge of local MEA languages is a plus.
- Positive attitude, initiative, and a self starter mindset with strong attention to detail.
