Lead Engineering Technician II (Machinist)

In this role, you will support our Advanced Technology engineering teams by serving as a prototyping machinist and CAM programmer. You will provide hands-on support, machining, and assembly of components for engineering prototype development. Additionally, you may be asked to offer machining and repair support including custom fixture development related to production tooling.
You will report directly to our Sr. R&D Manager and work out of our Plymouth, MN location with a fully on-site work schedule.

As a Lead Engineering Technician II here at Honeywell, you will lead a team, provide technical expertise, and ensure smooth operations in our MSC business unit. Your skills will drive project success and business growth.You will report directly to our R&D Manager and you’ll work out of our Plymouth, MN location on a On-site work schedule.
YOU MUST HAVE
- 10 plus years of experience as a machinist with a focus on prototype machining and assembly
- Strong knowledge of CAM programming, CAD modeling, and machine operations
- Experience with SolidWorks and NX CAD packages
- Proficiency in operating lathes, milling machines, and welding equipment
- Experience with interpreting engineering drawings and specifications
- Experience managing machine shop operations and tool maintenance schedules
- A track record of collaboration with engineers, technicians, and scientists

- Degrees in technical disciplines such as Machine Tool Technology, CNC Machining, Tool and Die making, Welding and Metal Fabrication, or similar

The annual base salary range for this position is $75,500.00 - $94,400.00. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. KEY RESPONSIBLITIES
- Perform CAM programming and operate CNC machine tools
- Interpret and understand engineering drawings to ensure accurate fabrication
- Operate manual lathes, milling machines, and various shop tools to produce precision components
- Assist in machined component assembly and welding processes to meet project specifications
- Create and modify CAD models to support engineering design efforts
- Provide design guidance and collaborate with scientists and engineers developing prototypes
- Manage workflows, lead times, and materials ordering in a prototyping machine shop
- Perform equipment maintenance and guide capital investment decisions for a modern prototyping machine shop
