Honeywell Building Automation is looking for a talented Embedded Systems Engineer who will develop embedded software for Fire Alarm Systems and devices, in different software layers, from firmware to embedded applications as well as develop tools for internal use. You will participate in design process and test and evaluate prototypes from initial engineering samples to mass production. Also, you will aid in the design and development of devices and systems, and redesign of existing systems to fulfill the needs of Honeywell's customers.

As an Embedded Engineer II here at Honeywell, you will design, develop, and debug embedded software and firmware, collaborating cross-functionally to define system requirements and ensure timely project completion. You’ll work out of our Mexico City location on a Hybrid work schedule. #LI-Hybrid

You must have
• Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent or relevant work experience
• A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in embedded systems development in a multi-disciplinary system that includes hardware, firmware and communication protocols (wired or wireless)
• Hands-on coding and debugging experience in C language for firmware development involving embedded systems
• Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
• Strong sense of ownership and drive; someone who is self-motivated and can work with little supervision, who consistently take the initiative to get things done
• Good analytical thinking, troubleshooting & problem-solving skills, coupled with the drive to learn
• Experience working with ARM, AVR, etc architectures is a plus.
• Experience with C ++ is a plus.
• Experience working with functional components such as timers, watchdogs, system clocks, ISR, etc is a plus.
• Experience working with peripherals and controllers such as GPIO, ADC, DAC, PWM, DMA, MAC etc is a plus.
• Experience working with wired communication protocols such as SPI, I2C, UART, RS232, RS485, USB, Ethernet, TCP/IP, etc is a plus.
• Experience working with volatile and non-volatile memories such as EEPROM, FLASH, RAM, etc.
• Experience working with embedded Linux (user space, drivers and kernel) is a plus.
• Experience with cybersecurity in an embedded system environment and developing secure products is a plus.
• Understanding of hardware design principles is a plus.
• Fluent written and verbal communication skills in English

We value
• Experience working with ARM cortex M4/M7 is a plus.
• Experience working with SOC or multi-processor SOC architectures is a strong plus.
• Experience working with MMU, MPU, etc is a plus.
• Experience working with MCU power modes is a plus.
• Experience working with memory maps and memory management (static and dynamic) is a plus.
• Experience with wireless protocols like Bluetooth.
• Experience working with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, protocol analyzers, multimeters, signal generators, data acquisition, etc. is a plus.
• Experience with networking fundamentals and protocols is a strong plus.
• Experience with building automation industry protocols: BACnet or Modbus are a strong plus.
• Knowledge of Agile, scaled Agile or Scrum experience is a plus.
