With the development of our business in China, we are expanding Honeywell UOP R&D in China and currently looking for new talents to join our China R&D team. This is a Senior R&D Engineer for process development and design. As Sr. Advance R&D Engineer, you will have opportunities to work with business, sales, tech service and R&D members on new (or improved) process development, integration and optimization, as well as technical analysis and economic evaluation. you will also have chances to lead internal R&D projects or projects collaborating with external partners.

As an R&D Engr/Scientist II here at Honeywell, you will conduct R&D activities, design experiments, and develop innovative solutions. Collaborate with engineers and scientists to drive technological advancements and commercialize new products.You will report directly to our [Title] and you’ll work out of our [City, State] location on a [Hybrid, On-site, Remote] work schedule.

Key Qualifications and Skills:

  • PhD’s degree or above in chemical process engineering or applied chemistry.
  • Experience – Project experience in chemical process design or new process development in refinery or petrochemical industry. Experience of biomass conversion (to fuels or chemicals) or methanol synthesis is a plus.
  • Skills – Strong analytical and problem solving, proficiency in process simulation software, chemical process unit design, and project management. Six Sigma Green Belt is a plus.
  • Proficient in both oral and written English.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process Design and Development - Developing new or improving existing processes for manufacturing, refining, or chemical processing.
  • Growth Supporting - Seek growth ideas in refining, petrochemicals, natural gas, green energy industries and beyond.
  • Technology Evaluation - Process technical evaluation and techno-economic-analysis.
  • Process Simulation and Modeling - Using software to simulate and model processes for analysis and optimization.
  • Equipment Sizing and Selection - Basic skill to determine the appropriate size and type of equipment for a given process.
  • Experiment Design and Data Analysis - Reaction pilot plant design of experiment (DoE) and experiment result analysis.
  • Project Management - Leading and managing projects from initiation to completion, including internal R&D projects and well as collaboration projects with external partners.
  • Collaboration and Communication - Working with cross functional teams, including business leaders, sales, engineers, and operations, as well as acting as a key focal person and working with global/regional R&D teams within UOP.
  • Continuous Improvement - Finding ways to improve UOP process technology efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and safety.
