We are currently looking for a Sr Engineer working in Materials Engineering organization based in our Mexicali facility. You will provide technical consulting for the area of materials science and engineering in accordance with internal and external customer requirements. You will be responsible for interfacing design engineers, production engineers, suppliers, and customers to generate purchase and manufacturing specifications regarding their end-item configuration. You will team with other experienced engineers and ensure that material requirements are met on environmental control system and engines and propulsion programs.
YOU MUST HAVE
- Bachelor's degree in engineering
- Demonstrable knowledge and experience in aerospace materials and processes required 7+ years of in-depth expertise in either Chemical castings, chemical processing (cleaning, etching, anodizing, organic coatings), plating, polymers & non metallics, brazing, heat treatment, welding (GTW, EBW, LBW, RW, IW) or nondestructive testing. Experience interfacing with customers in design reviews.
- English proficiency, assertive oral and written communications.
WE VALUE
- Bachelor's, master’s or PhD degree in Engineering Materials, Metallurgy, Chemistry, Chemical engineering or aerospace engineering.
- Knowledge of aerospace materials specifications and the manufacturing processes used to make the part, experience with NADCAP and AMS specification requirements is highly desirable
- Experience providing technical guidance for selection and use of surface preparation and surface finishes in product applications, in accordance with Honeywell and industry specifications and requirements
- Experience performing drawing reviews to ensure customer and internal material and process requirements are properly incorporated into Honeywell designs
- Knowledge of Aerospace standards and industry requirements including NADCAP, ASTM, MIL and AMS specifications and standards.
- Experience interfacing suppliers and auditing for process certification and conformity to Honeywell fixed and/or special processes and quality standards
- Individuals who are proactive, self-motivated and able to work with little supervision, who consistently take the initiative to get things done, do things before being asked by others or forced to by events.
- Demonstrating ability interfacing suppliers and auditing for process certification and conformity to Honeywell fixed and/or special processes and quality standards
- Experience mentoring lower-level engineers on projects, technology, or process development
