APU, Shaft, Altitude and Component Test is a group of laboratory engineers and technicians within Engines & Power Systems’ Engineering Test Services (ETS) organization. We plan and execute engine testing from IPDS Phase 2 through Phase 6 for all APU and many propulsion products. We are currently supporting new designs, SRD programs and Facility Upgrades. We are leading and supporting various Engineering Transformation initiatives focused on delivering the data our customers need in half the time for half the cost.
The successful candidate will lead test coordination, program test estimates, facility design and capital projects for one or more product lines and as such will be accountable for the preparation, coordination, and execution of E&PS engine test requests – quality data being the key deliverable to our customers. The candidate will lead facility and test equipment design and maintenance for a wide variety of engine test programs/projects. The candidate will also act as the primary focal point for Test as a Service, the sales of our test capability to support customers in their product development. This function also supports aero adjacent markets.
Laboratory Engineers within Test Services work with a wide variety of stakeholders in all aspects of test facility design and maintenance, test equipment design, configuration and upkeep, test planning and test execution. An Engineer in this role will leverage their advanced knowledge of engineering processes, discipline, and tools to estimate, plan and execute tasks and projects related to the development and certification of Honeywell engines. This role also mentors and trains the cross functional team to achieve all objectives for the engine test programs, utilizing demonstrated experience.

YOU MUST HAVE
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics
- 8-10 years Engineering and/or Test experience.

- Experience with Altitude Test Facilities and equipment required to operate them
- Experience with Control Systems, especially facility control system and transient behaviors of test systems
- Skilled change agent with proven ability to drive transformational/cultural improvement.
- Background in requirements management, validation, and verification.
- Strong background and experience in defining a test program plan to achieve development risk reduction, safety of flight test requirements and qualification test requirements within budget and schedule constraints.

Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for technical decision making, including, without limitation, coordinating technical requirements with customers, and advising leadership and customers on all technical aspects and issues to achieve all technical requirements.
- Strong familiarity with industry capabilities at gas turbine engine test facilities and equipment necessary for those test facilities
- Approves technical content, technical commitments, and associated cost and schedule for all proposals or change orders (internal or external).
- Mentors and trains the team to achieve all objectives for the engine test programs, utilizing demonstrated experience.
- Drive upgrades and maintenance of ETS facilities and equipment to maximize facility and equipment uptime while optimizing return on investment
- Coordinate with peer groups and ISC regarding improvement and utilization of shared resources (people, equipment, and facilities).
