As a Principal Process Specialist here at Honeywell, you will play a crucial role by supporting development, innovation, commercialization, and project execution of Crude Processing technology.

You will be responsible for the development and improvement of design practices, tools, and infrastructure to ensure the technologies are competitively positioned in the marketplace. You will also be expected to support business growth through technology innovation, differentiation and development. You will work closely with sales and business teams to help win new opportunities.

You will report directly to our Sr. Manager of Refining Processes, and you'll work out of our Rosemont, Illinois location on a hybrid work schedule.

  • Crude Treating/Desalter
  • Crude and Vacuum Distillation
  • Saturate Gas Concentration

As a Principal Process Specialist here at Honeywell, you will play a crucial role by supporting development, innovation, commercialization, and project execution of Crude Processing technology.

US PERSON REQUIREMENTS:
• Due to compliance with US export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a US Person which is defined as a US citizen, US permanent resident, or have protected status In the US under asylum or refugee status or have the ability to obtain an export authorization.

YOU MUST HAVE
• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical engineering or related field
• Minimum of 15 years of experience in Oil and Gas, Petrochemical or Refining Industry
• Minimum 10 years of direct experience with engineering process design for a licensor or EPC supporting the Oil and Gas, Petrochemical or Refining Industry
• Strong knowledge of process improvement methodologies and tools
• Strong process modelling/simulation skills (Unisim, Aspen HYSYS, Aspen Plus, PRO/II)
• Strong process development and equipment design skills which include PFD and P&ID development.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

WE VALUE
• Prior experience in crude treating, atmospheric distillation, vacuum distillation, and gas concentration processes
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects while actively maintaining current tools and infrastructure
• Demonstrated experience leading innovation and technology improvement projects
• Ability to identify and manage risk by working with internal stakeholders and by providing sound technical judgement and expertise
• Ability to engage customers with high technical sophistication and drive customers’ choices based on sound technical arguments
• Ability to lead knowledge management activities or programs. Active participation in Technology Specialist Network and other knowledge sharing programs (i.e. Communities of Practice, Technical Community Organization, etc.)
• Prior experience with Process Design Package preparation and technology commercialization
• Prior experience supporting global projects, working with/for EPCs and licensors
• Proven track record in the conceptual and design refinery or petrochemical plant process units
• Ability to mentor junior engineers and actively support their technical development across engineering globally
• Ability to drive development of new tools and infrastructure
• Ability to be self-driven and always looking to improve current best practices or technology offering.

The annual base salary range for this position in Illinois is $146,000 - $164,000. This position is incentive eligible. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Play a leadership role in technology resolution, technology innovation, process design improvement, and commercialization of new processes and technology.
  • Oversee project execution and provide technical support to process and project execution engineers
  • Identify, develop, and implement process improvements and innovation initiatives
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive process development and optimization projects
  • Work closely with technical and field services to identify opportunities for further performance improvements and support performance guarantee resolutions
  • Provide training and guidance to less experienced process and project engineers
  • Support development and maintenance of critical infrastructure and tools
  • Organize and communicate technical needs to leadership.
