The Sr. Advanced Mechanical Engineer leads multiple projects for integrated systems and sub-systems, demonstrating advanced technical expertise and ownership. This role builds upon the Advanced Mech Design Engineer by taking on higher-risk projects, driving process and tool improvements, and providing technical leadership across multiple projects with minimal supervision. The Sr. Advanced Mechanical Engineer acts as a technical consultant for cross-functional teams, supports project consistency, and contributes to continuous improvement efforts.

As a Sr Advanced Mech Design Engineer here at Honeywell, you will lead a team of mechanical design engineers to develop high-quality products, manage timelines, budgets, and resources, and provide technical guidance. You will report directly to our Manager and you’ll work out of our Mason, OH location on a Hybrid work schedule.
YOU MUST HAVE
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, mathematics
- At least 6 years of progressive Mechanical Engineering experience, including leadership of complex projects and increasing responsibility.
- Technical proficiency in mechanical design, risk management, and process improvement.
- Up to 30% travel may be necessary.

Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage mechanical design efforts for complex projects, ensuring alignment with program requirements and standards.
- Lead and manage the execution of customer programs.
- Provide advanced problem-solving and technical guidance in design meetings and onsite situations.
- Attend and contribute to project turnover meetings, functional design reviews, and system design reviews.
- Consult on system architecture, functional specifications, and interface documents.
- Drive process improvement initiatives and identify procedural/tool enhancements.
- Oversee multiple projects simultaneously, including high-risk assignments, with little or no supervision.
- Ensure proper documentation, drawing standards, and update practices are followed.
- Develop, deliver, and maintain technical training activities for the team.
- Monitor project progress and address mechanical risks.
- Support and consult with Sales, Marketing, and other engineering disciplines.
- Participate in lessons learned and post-mortem engineering reviews, providing expertise and historical perspective.
- May be required to perform other duties as assigned.
