Lead BAS Controls Technician – Orlando, FL and surrounding areas

You’ll lead system startup, integration, and optimization while partnering closely with in-house engineers, electrical contractors, and customer stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Commission and optimize Honeywell BAS systems, installing software, performing system checkouts, and ensuring performance meets spec.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware/software issues; adjust, re-engineer, or redesign as needed.
  • Execute open protocol integrations (BACnet, Modbus, OPC, LON).
  • Improve commissioning efficiency using Honeywell Operating System tools and wireless commissioning technologies.
  • Maintain scope integrity and support change orders when needed.
  • Follow configuration management standards including backups and final archiving (ADEPT).
  • Coordinate closely with GCs, mechanical contractors, trades, customers, and engineering teams on scope, hardware, software, graphics, and as-builts.
  • Support sales and PM teams with site surveys, application recommendations, retrofit opportunities, and solution presentations.
  • Complete hazard/risk assessments and maintain compliance documentation.
  • Travel 25–50% within region.

YOU MUST HAVE

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with Building Automation systems installations and/or field service.
  • 3+ years of experience with building systems, programming, computers, and general network knowledge.
  • Valid driver’s license with a driving record acceptable to Honeywell standards.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

WE VALUE

  • Tridium Niagara N4 certification.
  • Advanced technical degree.
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
  • Expert-level knowledge of HVAC systems, control systems, and mechanical operations in building facilities.
  • Advanced network and integration expertise with protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, OPC, and LON.
