This role will be based out Honeywell’s Phoenix NDT Lab. The NDT Technician will work with a team of engineers and technicians to support non-destructive test engineering inspection on a variety of Honeywell products both mechanical and electrical in nature. Primary responsibilities will be in an NDT lab environment, using various NDT techniques to inspect fielded, test, R&D, and production hardware. Aspects of the job include planning, coordinating, and communicating (verbal and written) NDT results to a broad customer base.

Responsibilities:

  • Hands-on operation of Computed Tomography equipment and reconstruction/manipulation of CT data.
  • Inspection of fielded, test, R&D, and production hardware using various NDT techniques (UT, X-ray, FPI, Eddy Current, MPI)
  • Provide support to Project and Design groups for new and existing programs
  • Maintaining current NDT equipment
  • Assist in training personnel for certification purposes

As a Lead Engineering Technician here at Honeywell, you will work with a team of engineers and technicians to support non-destructive test engineering inspection on a variety of Honeywell products both mechanical and electrical in nature. Primary responsibilities will be in an NDT lab environment, using various NDT techniques to inspect fielded, test, R&D, and production hardware. You will report directly to our Sr Director of Engineering, and you’ll work out of our Phoenix, AZ location On-site.

YOU MUST HAVE:

  • H.S. Diploma or GED
  • 2+ years experience working in chemistry lab environment demonstrating strong understanding of chemistry lab processes/procedures
  • Demonstrated expertise in wet chemistry and chemical solution analysis techniques including but not limited to pH, color titrations, and dilutions

WE VALUE:

  • Demonstrated expertise in wet chemistry and chemical solution analysis techniques including but not limited, UV-Vis, ICP, viscosity, and TAN
  • Familiarity with ASTM/industry specifications
  • Demonstrated proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing both conversational & technical English.
  • Customer focused. Must be able to interface with Honeywell Engineering customers and consistently meet customer requested turn times on chemistry lab work
  • Must be able to cope with high demand production critical environment
  • Awareness of safe laboratory practices, including proper procedures for handling, storage and disposal of strong acids (HF), bases, volatile solvents, toxic chemicals (cyanides); and an understanding of their hazards.
  • Must be able to interface with engineering personnel to resolve technical issues.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Adobe Acrobat.
