The Honeywell Software Centre develops state of the art networked building automation and digital video surveillance solutions that run on-premise and cloud. Recognised as a leader in the development of innovative and quality software we use the latest development methodologies and tools and maintain a strong ongoing commitment to Quality Systems.

We are seeking a hands-on, on-premise DevOps specialist to join our engineering team. In this role, you’ll strengthen our build, release, and runtime platform – helping us to ship faster, safer and smarter. You’ll drive automation, improve CI/CD pipelines and enable our teams to deliver with confidence across on-premise and hybrid environments. As part of this role, you will do away with manual and cumbersome tasks, promote automation which in turn helps drive efficiency and agility, use repeatable patterns for consistency, and promote collaboration to enhance capabilities and proficiency.

You will be part of a team of software engineers responsible for the development of Honeywell’s Building products. These products are exported worldwide through Honeywell’s global businesses.

  • Proven experience with complex, enterprise environments
  • Strong recent experience in on-premise infrastructure environments (preferred over cloud-only experience)
  • Strong Windows and Linux fundamentals, scripting (shell, Powershell, Python) and networking basics
  • Strong experience with CI/CD tooling such as Git, Github Actions, Bamboo
  • Strong experience in Containers, Docker, Kubernetes
  • Experience in application code (preferably .NET) is highly valued.
  • AI-Driven automation and infrastructure management is highly valued
  • CI/CD Pipeline Optimization for AI models is highly valued.

  • Lead and manage backlog actively with focus on high impact automation (reduce toil, accelerate releases, prevent failures)
  • Lead and support container platform deployment, monitoring and lifecycle management using Docker, Kubernetes and related tools.
  • Lead setting standards and running post-mortems for driving continuous improvement
  • Champion DevOps best practices in CI/CD, monitoring and configuration management
  • Has a combination of skills across infrastructure, code, automation, networking and build techniques
  • Set up monitoring and alerting systems for proactive issue detection
  • Reviews problems and figures out the best way to solve them with automation
  • Uses the smallest possible number of manual tasks
  • Feedback loops are strong and help to build rapport with team members
  • Coaching and helping develop other team members and contribute to a culture of learning and autonomy
  • Maintain clear, up-to date documentation for systems, procedures and configurations
  • Follow a strict process for changes being introduced into the environment using pattern-based approach
  • Provide knowledge transfer to customer DevOps teams
